I don't blame him for not just trusting Hook's calculations given everything that's transpired so I get why he's continuing this. Wage theft is theft. His company stole from him for 18 years, lied to his face and degraded him calling him a "minus singer."
That had to be so hurtful itself, but it's also really hurtful when you later discover (unbeknownst to you) that you were an abuse victim the whole time. I've had that happen in a different context. The story you tell yourself, the reality you've constructed and lived in for so long gets blown up. A reality where you were not a victim because it's easier to survive that way. And you realize this "reality" was a cognitive distortion so you didn't have to be aware of how actually abused/taken advantage of you've been. It's a protective mechanism to keep you from hurt and when it gets exposed it's like ripping the band-aid off. To me it sounds like Seunggi is going through this right now and let me tell ya it sucks. It's overall good that it got exposed so Hook didn't get away with it and it needs to exposed for true healing to happen (instead of your mind just constructing around it) but... it's a brutal process to endure.
I wonder if Hook's calculations could actually be correct now but Seunggi wants to continue the lawsuit because he wants a trial/wants them publicly held to account for their abuse of him. I do believe him when he says this is absolutely about more than the money to him.
