Next on Omona's to-watch list: upcoming Kdramas in November 2022

Oct 31, 2022 16:40

It's November, so new Kdramas! I'm feeling a bit under the weather and don't feel like writing anything excited after what happened over the weekend, so please find a bit of a toned down version of this post below the cut. Please also note that because of the mourning period in Korea, some dramas might have changed their air schedule.

Opinions are mine and should be taken lightly as they are just my first impressions. Other thoughts are welcomed!

Previous post: Kdramas in October

I marked trailers with English subtitles with an asterisk (*)

I'm usually not one for fashion or music industry dramas - the camaraderie between the cast looks cute though. Could anyone please send me the spicy clips of Minho once the drama has aired?

She is hot-tempered and when she sets a goal, she will try to achieve it without careful thinking. She and Ma Tae Oh have many disagreements along the way.
Kim Joong Don is Cheon Je In’s best friend at work and he holds the same position as a leader of a manager team. He is a gentle person.
So Hyun Joo is a rookie manager and often makes trouble at work. She grows as a professional manager through her experience.Add to watch-list or skip? This drama feels like a Sh**ting Stars but without the romance. Watching Sh**ting Stars was an exception for me since, like I said above, I generally don't tend to care for K-industry dramas, so only if this drama gets particularly good reviews I might consider picking it up.

Add to watch-list or skip? The premise of this drama sounds super interesting and super heavy at the same time. I am not sure if I'll pick it up immediately, but will definitely keep my eye out for reviews.

I don't think I'll watch, but I am surprised every time when I learn (again) that Jeongyeon has a sister who's an actress.

Reborn Rich*

Release date: November 18 on JTBC, Viki
Runtime: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Cast: Song Joong Ki, Lee Sung Min, Shin Hyun BinPlot: Yoon Hyun Woo is a devoted, hard-working, and loyal secretary to the Jin family, which runs the lucrative Sunyang Group business empire. After he realizes what has happened, he decides to take revenge. He hatches a plan to overthrow Jin Yang Chul, the cold-blooded and money-hungry CEO of Sunyang Group. Yoon Hyun Wo plots to use his new “identity” to formulate a hostile takeover of the group - and punish the people who killed him. But what role will be played in all this by a dogged public prosecutor named Seo Min Young, an anti-corruption investigator who becomes known as the “Sunyang Group Grim Reaper?”Add to watch-list or skip? This reminds me of a more mature spin on Golden Spoon, which is airing now. Apparently switching bodies to become rich and get revenge is a popular trope in dramaland at the moment. This is Song Joong Ki's return to dramas after the massive hit that Vincenzo was, while co-star Lee Sung Min (whom I love) looks absolutely unrecognizable! I might check this out if I'm not tired of the trope after Golden Spoon.

Somebody*

Release date: November 18 on Netflix
Runtime: Friday
Cast: Kim Young Kwang, Kang Hae Lim, Kim Yong Ji, Kim Soo YeonPlot: Sum is a developer for social connecting app "Somebody." Even though she has difficulty communicating with other people, she is friends with Mok Won and Ki Eun. Her friend Ki Eun works as a detective.

Yoon O is an attractive man, but he seems to be hiding something. Meanwhile, Ki Eun investigates the murder case with help of Mok Won.Add to watch-list or skip? Kim Young Kwang as a psychotic killer seems very realistic to me (yes this is shade). This looks really interesting - apparently it's based on American Psycho? I have never watched the film so I can't tell - but I'll most likely pass considering the cast.

Runtime: Saturdays
Cast: Choi Soo Young, Yoon Park, Jeong In JiPlot: A romantic comedy drama depicting what happens when a father writes a reply to his daughter in order to grant her daughter's wish to receive a reply from a Hallyu goddess actress.
Add to watch-list or skip? I don't think I would've considered picking this up despite the premise being cute and liking Sooyoung as an actress because I am not sure if this drama would be interesting enough for 16 episodes, but now I'm reading it's only 4 episodes of 1,5 hours? Will wait for more trailers and then I'll decide to take the leap.

Add to watch-list or skip? The title of this drama is a big mood and we get librarian!Im Siwan with long hair?? Despite my reservations about Seolhyun, I think I'll pick this up because it looks like such a cosy fall/winter drama.
