It surprises me how this one in particular got translated because there has been many, many other articles published in Sina claiming way different things about his future. About him joining other companies, collaborating with many different people, etc that never got translated.
Since they were also posted in sina, I imagine the validity was about the same, too.
Well, he is the last person that's gotten to speak to Han Geng that we know of. His tweet was posted right after the rumor started to get diffused, too.
So, I'd say as of now it's more credible than someone who claims to have heard from someone and all of that jazz, since in Da Peng's case, at least we know he's been in contact with Han Geng whereas the other party, for all we know, could simply be making things up.
Furthermore, there's been several sina articles claiming Han Geng has signed/talked/etc with other entertainment companies that never got translated, so I don't understand why this one has be deemed for valid. I remember one in particular about him collaborating with Nicky Wu from Little Tigers that never got shared yet it was up on the same site. So far, it has also turned to be false...
