The line-up for Kdramas this month is short but sweet, with some big names coming back again. Are you ready to spend the summer with these revenge dramas and romcoms and everything inbetween?
Apologies for the late post, real life got in the way💖
Opinions are mine and should be taken lightly as they are just my first impressions. Other thoughts are welcomed!

To X Who doesn't love me
Release date: 14 July on TVING
Runtime: Thursday
Cast: Han Ji Hyo, Kim Do Young, Kwon Ah ReumPlot: Seo Hee-Soo (Han Ji-Hyo) is a university student and she wants to become a song lyricist. She has never had a boyfriend in her life and her self-esteem is almost zero. She happens to find a mysterious lyrics notebook that makes love come true for the writer. Her best friend Jung Shi-Ho (Do Young) is the only one who knows about Seo Hee-Soo’s lyrics notebook. Seo Hee-Soo soon gets involved with different men.
Will I watch? Starring NCT’s Do Young, this drama seems like the Korean answer to All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (but maybe that’s just from the title!). The drama looks like a cute college romcom, a setting we don’t see enough in romantic Korean dramas!

Remarriage & Desires*
Release date: 15 July on Netflix
Runtime: Friday
Cast: Kim Hee Seon, Lee Hyun Wook, Jung Eugene, Park Hoon, Cha Ji YeonPlot: Matchmaking company Rex exists to serve the wealthiest high class individuals. Their clients want to enter this high class world or maintain their status at the top through marriage or remarriage. Clients, including Seo Hye-Seung (Kim Hee-Seon), Lee Hyung-Ju (Lee Hyun-Wook), sign up with Rex for their own purposes. Seo Hye-Seung wants revenge.
Will I watch? Often high-class revenge dramas don’t appeal to me personally, so they’re usually not on the top of my list to check out, but a revenge drama with Kim Hee Sun in the lead and one that maybe will explore the capitalist underpinnings of marriage might be one to consider!

Adamas

Now, they discover that their birth father is the person that killed their step-father and he received the death sentence.
Ha Woo-Shin and Song Soo-Hyun soon learn that their birth father was framed for their step-father's murder and they chase after truth. In the process, they encounter Eun Hye-Soo (Seo Ji-Hye) and Kim Seo-Hee (Lee Soo-Kyung). Eun Hye-Soo is married to the eldest son of the Haesong Group and she helps Ha Woo-Shin secretly. Kim Seo-Hee is a reporter for TNN local news. She is a righteous person and enthusiastic with her work. She has a secret, which is related to the twin brothers Ha Woo-Shin and Song Soo-Hyun.Will I watch? The plot of this drama could become very convoluted depending on the quality of writing. Again a revenge drama, but also again with a strong cast - Ji Sung taking up a twin role! This might be a hit, so if this is your genre, I’m sure you would not want to miss it.

There's no trailer nor poster for this Kdrama yet, so let's listen to Kim Sejeong's 'Warning' instead 💖
Today's Webtoon
Release date: 27 July on SBS
Runtime: Friday & Saturday
Cast: Kim Se Jeong, Choi Daniel, Nam Yoon SuPlot: On Ma-Eum (Kim Se-Jeong) use to be a judo athlete. Her life revolved around the sport, but an injury ended her career in judo. She then got her first job in a webtoon editorial department. She has a hard time adjusting to her job as a webtoon editor and the people at her work. Through all the difficulties she faces, On Ma-Eum grows as a person and a webtoon editor.
Will I watch? An adaptation of the Japanese manga Sleepeeer Hit!, which seems to be going in the direction webtoon office life sprinkled with some slight romance. this is Kim Sejeong’s follow up drama after the (at least internationally) very successful A Business Proposal. Her character promises to be a bright character again and I am ready to see her perform some judo moves (preferably with Nam Yoon Su!). Don’t you feel like the casting for this was just announced?

Big Mouth*
Release date: 29 July on MBC
Runtime: Friday & Saturday
Cast: Lee Jong Suk, Lim Yoon APlot: Park Chang-Ho (Lee Jong-Suk) works as a lawyer with a measly 10% winning rate. He is a talkative person and, because of this people call him Big Mouth. He happens to get involved in a murder case and he is somehow fingered as genius swindler Big Mouse. Due to this, Park Chang-Ho finds himself in a life-threatening situation. Meanwhile, Go Mi-Ho (Lim Yoon-A) is Park Chang-Ho’s wife and she works as a nurse. She has a beautiful appearance and a personality that is both wise and brave. She helped her husband become a lawyer by supporting him financially and psychologically. Go Mi-Ho learns that Park Chang-Ho is suspected to be the genius swindler Big Mouse and attempts to clear her husband's name.
Will I watch? This drama takes over from Doctor Lawyer (anyone seen this one?) and reading up on the drama, I am mixed. It seems like the writers at least tried to put some thought in Yoona’s character to make her resourceful enough to try to save her husband, but I haven’t been impressed with Yoona’s acting (granted, my only impression was The K2 which was a terrible drama in itself). I do like Lee Jong Suk as an actor, but I’m not sure whether he can carry more serious, action roles. Maybe some of you who have seen more than one Yoona drama and Lee Jong Suk in non-romance roles can weigh in here!

The Good Detective 2*
Release date: 30 July on JTBC
Runtime: Saturday & Sunday
Cast: Son Hyun Joo, Jang Seung Jo, Lee Elijah, Oh Jung Se, Ji Seung Hyun, Kim Hyo Jin
Plot: I couldn't find a plot description for this show yet 🥲 The trailer seems to focus on the boomer-youngster age dynamics in the team!
Will I watch? After Cleaning Up, the second season of The Good Detective will follow. I haven’t seen the first season - it’s been on my to-watch list for ages since I’ve heard good things about it - so I won’t pick up this one before I’ve seen the first season. Have you seen it? What did you think?
