IST Entertainment's Rookie Boy Group To Debut Later This Year and Name Change?
It has been reported that IST Entertainment's new boy group ABO (TBD) is set to make their debut in the second half of this year.
The group was formed during the survival show The Origin: A, B or What where 7 out of 13 trainees were chosen to debut by judges and a live audience. In the last episode the 7 successful trainees were announced, as well as their name group name: ABO which stands for At the Beginning of Originality.
The 7 members are (in order of the photo above): Jeong Seunghwan, Oh Junseok, Seok Rakwon, Ryu Junmin, Bae Hyunjun, Yang Donghwa and Kim Yeonkyu.
However shortly after the final episode aired, fans were not happy with the name and petitioned it to be changed. The main reason being that ABO is actually a slur used against the indigenous people of Australia.
IST Ent intially applied for trademarks for the name on the 4th of May however it looks like they have recently rescinded these requests so it's thought that they will be changing it to something that is not offensive.

IST entertainment has deleted/clear ABO Trademark today 👀 ! That's mean they gonna change the group name!
