GOT7's resident trademark attorney strikes again! After over a year since securing GOT7's name, Leader Jaebeom has once again been busy behind the scenes and as of the 8th of March 2022 gained the trademark rights for both JB and GOT7's subunits!

Not sure what was the arrangement but they released a single as GOT7 a month after their contract expired last year.

As far as I'm aware, yeah, last year, contrary to what company stans believe, Jaebeom had to do A LOT of legal work in order to get the name because the company had extended the copyright to 2024 just before their contracts expired. That's why they were then able to release Encore.

He mentioned it on his story bc we didn't know what he was up to, pretty sure he was the last member to sign with a company/ reveal it because of everything he was doing behind the scenes.

ooo didn't know that this was the reason for his late signing. but good on him for trying to settle a lot of the stuff. and the encore issue brings into perspective why they haven't done much together since. this bodes well I hope

Right? Like they mean the same company that took profits from team wang and didn't promote the group properly bc they made more money than the company??? Like hell they'd give that away, they didn't even want all of them to leave in the first place.

I can't fathom stanning a freaking company of all things, fans are literally insane.
