Flashback Friday
Every week I check the charts for this day in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we are going back to see what we were listening to in the 4th week in March, 2013. A nice mix of songs this week.
#3 Girl’s Day “Expectation”
This was the lead single of the group’s first full album of the same name. It was their second song to break into the top ten on the charts. They would receive a few nominations at the year end awards for this song, including Best Dance Performance at MAMA. I always think of the suspender choreography when I think of this song. Remember Yoo Jae Suk on the idol episode of Running Man lol? This week, let’s check out the dance version MV.
#2 Supreme Team featuring Crush “You Can Stay”
This was their first song together in two years, as well as the final release from the duo. A few months later, E-Sens’s contract with Ameoba Culture was not renewed, and left the label and the group. Both he and Simon D would pursue solo careers. The song did well though. I don’t remember this at all, but then again I can only really recognize one Supreme Team song at first listen.
#1 Davichi “Just The Two Of Us”
This was the title track for the duo’s album, “Mystic Ballad”. It was their second full album, their first since their debut in 2008. It’s a really pretty song. The instrumental feels a little lighter, but the lyrics are so heavy. When she said “Let’s have a drink, a nasty one just like your heart”, I was like “oooh shit!” lol. The MV stars actors Jang Shin Young and Sung Hoon.

#6 Infinite “Man In Love”
This was the start of a busy 2013 for the group. This was the lead single from the group’s album, “New Challenge”. The album would hit the top spot, while the song would peak at #6. They would take a total of seven music show trophies for this song. The song’s success would help them win the MAMA for Best Male Group this year. I didn’t recognize this Sweetune song until the chorus, it’s been a while since I heard it. I feel like that’s normal for me when it comes to Infinite though, idk why lol.
#9 Lee Hi “It’s Over”
This was the lead single for her debut album, “First Love”. Both the album and the song would peak at #3 on the charts. I thought this era was so freaking adorable. All her outfits and stuff were so cute. And this was before the bear had a name! Although I think the Krunk they use now is more chonky lol.
