People will leap to trust anything so it validates our own misgivings. If you think someone is weird you'll hyperfocus on anything to validate that opinion. Cyber-wreckers are so unbelievably sleazy and gross, it’s like the perfect storm of yellow journalism, social media disinformation and rabid celebrity obsession. I got algorithmed a couple of these videos back before I really figured out what they were and these people know exactly what they’re doing, it’s skin-crawling and as someone who genuinely kind of fears that rabid disinformation will be the downfall of collective society, I wish they would get launched into the sun
