This week has been insane. All of a sudden it's Friday again!
I like the development in the last two episodes. I feel like there's still so much to be explored over the next 5 episodes. Why couldn't this have been a 20/24 episode drama? I continue to love our leads.
[Episode 11]Episode 11 - This was painful to watch - I like seeing San and the Queen’s relationship growing through this; the mutual respect is fascinating - Queen coming through and putting Princess Hwawan in her place… YAS QUEEN - Lady Jo is terrifying; the most terrifying - The King was giving me big Gollum vibes with this monologue… Lee Deok-hwa is amazing - I always love scenes between San and his grandfather, it really shows the toxicity of “parental” love and expectations - He’s always thinking about her - I love, love love Deok-im. Her conversation with Lady Seo is both heartbreaking and empowering - My brave, smart girl <3 - I swear, San gets locked up once a week - Deok-ro is this drama’s Icarus - The scene where they decode the message gives me goosebumps - Everyone but San can read Deok-im *shakes them* - He loves her, worries about her, but is always underestimating her - NO. They are too cute with that puppy. Why must you hurt me, drama? - San is living on a friggin’ THREAD - My girl is so smart. That is all. - I love the Queen. Period.
[Episode 12]Episode 12 - Not me screaming, “NO NOTES!” Everyone showed up for this scene, understood the assignment, did the homework. No phoning it in on this set. - When San turned to Deok-im when she was trying remind the King, I wonder if he made the connection that that’s what she was going to tell him - The music when Princess Hwawan gives San the seal… was amazing and I believe was performed by a majorly, if not all-female orchestra - Lady Jo knows she’s in trouble now… I wonder how Wol-hye is going to play into this now - I feel like Lady Jo arch ended anti-climatically - Oh this mother-son duo. I would be more empathetic to them if they weren’t such assholes to San - The King’s death scene… I like how it wrapped everything. Lee Deok-hwa and Junho did well in this scene, too [Spoiler (click to open)](episode death count: 2) - Lady Park!? [Spoiler (click to open)](episode death count: 3) - Gah, the cinematography gets me every time - Again, still love that Deok-im has her friends. Sad that Bok-yeon had to leave because of the King but I love her in her new gig - Ahh the slight aging of Deok-im, it’s so subtle but it’s there - Ooopfh, San… making her stand and wait for that long - “I want you to become my family.” Ugh, my heart.
