Flashback Friday
Every week I go through the past charts and post the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we are going back to the 1st week of July, 2009. First half of the year is over! A nice mix of songs this week.
#3 SHINee “Juliette”
This was the single from the group’s “Romeo” EP, their first release of 2009. Get it, Romeo and Juliette? Heh. This did well, and would be in the charts for weeks. This week, let’s check out the group’s dance MV for the song. The dance scenes are the only thing I remember about the original music video lol. I don’t remember the rest of the video at all.
#2 Outsider “Loner”
After years of being an underground rapper, this song was his big mainstream success. I remember this being around a lot. And it was successful on the charts, it was #1 on Mnet and Melon for over a month. Here’s a live performance from a few years ago on a radio show. Still super damn fast lol.
#1 V.O.S “In Trouble”
This was their lead single from the EP “Routine Free”. I didn’t remember the song by title, but now that it’s playing I think I’ve heard it before. Doesn’t it sound like it would be playing in the background of a drama? Like during a falling in love montage of something lol? Anyways, here’s their comeback stage on Music Core. I’ve definitely posted stages from this exact show before. I remember that marquee with those names. Solid lineup lol.

#7 8eight “Good Bye, My Love”
This was a digital single and the follow up to the hit (and OP’s fav 8eight song) “Without A Heart”. I don’t remember this song, but I know I’ve seen this music video before. The MV stars actress Kim Soeun, actor Jung Gyuwoon, and 8eight’s former label mate 2AM’s Jinwoon. I can’t tell who she is supposed to be in love with. Both of them?
#9 2PM “I Hate You”
This was one of the songs from their “2:00PM Time For Change” EP, and followed the lead single “Again And Again”. Maybe it is because of the success of the first song that I don’t remember this one at all. But this song did well too, and won a few music show trophies as well. Here’s their stage at Music Core. They group made their comeback earlier this week, 5 years since their last release.
