i like the mix in politics and romcom elements in this drama. i like how smartly everyone (ok maybe not dal) moves in the palace and their external relations, but i also loooved the bickering leading to that kiss scene, it was very cute and suited the characters well. in general i really love the communication between gajin and dal and how they trust, rely and learn from each other. it's also really fun to see a woman teaching a man swordsmanship! in general all the women in this show are really well able to defend themselves which i appreciate
go geon.... i'm annoyed at his whole insistence in wanting to be with gajin even when she clearly has said she is not interested in him in that way. really gross. i'm interested to see his relationship with moyong develop not that they've saved each other from tough situations
kind of random but i'm usually not the biggest fan of child actors but the child in this drama is so cute with her little hat!
Master Go...I can't explain him. I usually like the second leadnin sageuks except him.
Speaking of child actors, watching sageuks makes me feel old. We've literally watched Kim Sohyun playing the child version of the lead in sageuks to being the lead. Same with Yeo Jin Goo and Kim Yoojung. Now, the Crown Prince in this series... I've seen him act in other kdramas too!
awww that must feel weird! nice to see them grow in such great actors though :) kim sohyun in particular often picks great roles for herself. i do remember seeing the crown prince from somewhere but from where...
He's the child actor who played young version of the leads in Brahms and Flower Crew Joseon Marriage Agency. Plus some other dramas I cant remember anymore. They grow so fast!!!
this drama exhausts me in a good way LOL I just feel like they have soooo many powerful enemies left and right, and even her own father the King is so damn useless.
So disappointed in Master Go, I was actually rooting for him until he was all "I will have her even if by force" like hell no.. There's a part of me that can't blame Master Go fully because he didn't really have a choice but to be bad, poor kid didn't stand a chance with a dad like that. I honestly found their chemistry more compelling than with On Dal.
I am still trying to get used to On Dal's new face lol. I have never seen this actor before in any other show so sometimes Im like who are you again?
I wonder if the King will be able to redeem himself in the end or will continue to be puppet king.
Some editing looks weird with the addition of Na In Woo. I wonder if they had to entirely reshoot everything. Like the part where On Dal went back home and was talking to his mom...some parts looked like he was talking to a stand-in and not the real actrss. I dunno...maybe its just me lol and I know him only from watching a CUBE ent YT variety.
