[some good personal lockdown news]Three weeks in, my mental health was really taking a hit. I had a sudden worsening last weekend/early this week with anxiety attacks while trying to sleep, and talked about it with my psy, my GP and my parents. My GP made me a medical certificate and my father drove to my flat (so I could avoid taking the train/putting all of us at a bigger risk) and now I'm at my parents' house, with them :) It was still hard to fall asleep this night (my pills were in my suitcase downstairs and I was too lazy to get up lmao in some way, it's good that my laziness was bigger than my anxiety for once XD) but I already feel much better. My psy told me that I wasn't alone, and several of her patients are starting to have bigger anxiety symptomes this week.
I hope everyone and their family/friends are doing well and taking care of each other <3

Non-kpop, but I've been listening quite a lot to Dua Lipa's new album, it's pretty good! I usually skip the last two songs but it's a good release overall.
I've also replayed cute ggs a lot, in the likes of GFriend, Lovelyz, Oh My Girl, etc (when I'm not using the "remote work playlist" I made with kpop instrumentals lmao bless Lovelyz' Muse on Muse for providing nearly a third of it!). I find these groups really comforting as a lot of their songs are cute/sweet. Omona, what are the artists (kpop or not!) that you gravitate towards at the moment?

sorry your mental health hasn't been well. i'm really happy you are with your parents now and i hope that you will feel better very soon. please take good care of yourself (i know you are already doing that seeing all the steps you've taken: i'm really proud of you!)
take good care of your parents as well, i'm really glad you have them

how are your parents feeling? are they alright?

Yes and it also makes me realize that I've taken a lot of good steps in the months before - I have been with my psy for more than a year now but I met this GP around three months ago? and she's absolutely essential in my support system. I didn't react on the first day I felt down, but still, five days to react/make the proper changes is really short and a good sign that I have healthier mechanisms in place!

My parents are doing well! They're both healthy and handling lockdown well (being in a proper house with a garden helps). They were relieved they could take me in so quickly and easily.
How is your family doing?

i'm so proud of you and i hope you feel pride yourself, too!

it's so good to hear your parents are both healthy and doing well. my family is also alright! we are very careful and my dad is until further notice still allowed to stay home, but not sure how long he has left, but he's trying his best to stretch it for as long as his boss allows it (she's pure garbage). in his district more than 100 employees are at home willing to work but there's no work because they only operate on special services yet she keeps insisting my dad comes to work, there is no work even what are you talking about, it doesn't make sense. she's so tiring lol

how is the situation with your work at the moment?

do your parents have a large garden?

I do, actually!!!

That's insane, is she so addicted to work that she wants people to go to their office when there's nothing to do? Is your dad the only one she's nagging?

Lol it's not going that well, I'm performing really badly because remote work just isn't for me (though I hope it will get a little better now that I have my parents as coworkers!) on top of the general anxiety, but my boss is expecting me (and all of the team) to perform just as much as usual. My contract also ends in two months so I have to tell her I'm not staying, and it's going to be a shitshow. But it's over soon!!!
Working in job employement is depressing at the moment, my job is safe (until my contrat runs out) but all the construction sites we're working with are stoppped, and most the workers laid off. It's the opposite of why I went for this job!!! And I can't do anything because putting people back to work is exposing them to important risks + most of the activities are closed. At least my Mum (who is in a similar field) is part of a society handling social security benefits so there's a sense to what she's doing right now.

I would say decent size? It's really nice, we have fences on the left (noisy neighbous lol) and open view on the right (nice neighbours, then traintracks, so the garden feels a lot more spacious than it is), many flowers and even a young cherry tree :)

my dad is bus driver, the only operate on special services, like sunday and/or special holiday kind of services (which is a LOT less frequent, starts later and ends earlier etc.), he told me about 100 people in his district are sitting at home without work and there are a lot of part-timers willing to work (they don't get paid unless they work), my dad is fulltimer for idk like 30 years or so now so he gets paid work or not work so he's rather at home for health reasons (he's still unwell! but on the mend, thankfully) and so that others can work and actually pay rent, but his boss just keeps telling him to go to work. most of the full timers are at home now (they are all between 45 and 65 y/o so most of them are in the risk category that has to stay home as much as possible), so he doesn't understand why she's so insistent (my dad turned 62 earlier this week). it doesn't make sense at all, especially because he's still coughing a LOT and that, in general, is not safe because when he has a bad coughing fit it's not safe to drive people around because you can't really keep your eye on traffic but when he explains that she doesn't give a f. hopefully he can talk to the company doctor if she keeps insisting. we'll see and just have to hope for the best

oeh, so you only have 2 months of income for you coming up? do they have special funds you can apply to? because i can't really imagine you finding a new job that soon with the current situation going on? but it's good you are not staying in that shitshow with your awful boss, they don't deserve you no matter what!

ohhh cherry trees are so beautiful! is it blooming yet?
we have a plum tree but it's not blossoming yet. the raspberry and japanese wineberry plants/bushes (?) are starting to grow again. especially our japanese wineberry is getting huge. we also have red currants and blackberries in our back garden.
the garden in front of our house has a small apple tree (it's like a mini tree, that actually stays relatively small because the front garden is small) that gives surprisingly a lot of apples and a very very small gooseberry plant but that one isn't doing too well, i think last year we got like 10 berries max lol but it's so small and cute it's fine

do you guys usually plant or grow some of your own fruits or vegetables?

Why why whyyyyyy that's not managing your teams at all.
I guess she's trying to avoid part-time workers so she doesn't have to pay them, and instead insist with full-time workers that are paid anyway? But that would be so awful...
I really hope your father can discuss this with the company doctor and that the doctor keeps him at home. At 62/with health issue, he shouldn't go out.

Yep two months! After I can apply to social benefits myself, I've worked enough to have a decent income coming in for a few months (plus the money I have aside and eventually my parents' help). And people trained to help people find jobs are going to be needed I guess? Honestly I'm not worried about it :) It's just going to be delayed because I work in the public sector in local level, and most elections have been postponed.

It's blooming a little, yes! but right now we mostly have daffodils and bellflowers popping out of the ground. Really cute and colorful! And our rosemary bush is blooming as well with small blue flowers!
We don't grow vegetables yet, and the cherry tree is purely there for decoration, I don't think it gave us anything last year? We might get some wild strawberries though (we used to grow strawberries and some have stuck).
Ohhh a plum tree! so pretty. It's amazing that your apple tree gives so much apples, it means the tree loves where it's set. Are the berry bushes in the backyard giving enough fruits?

Love Again is really good ! Mine would be Don't Start Now and Hallucinate

Maybe because you need to get energy from the music?
I need something mellow, otherwise I get too distracted. Hype songs make me want to be active! So coffee-shop songs is great at providing some background, like a gentle buzz, while allowing me to concentrate on my computer. But I'm not really listening to them lol

I've seen many people talk about Oneus! I need to check this out :D

I'm sorry your anxiety has acted up like that :( but glad to hear you're not alone anymore and with your parents and that you could go there by car, much safer! I hope you'll have a better weekend now that you're there with them. <3

Ps. is there anything worse than feebas from 10km eggs?

gathyou April 3 2020, 17:31:03 UTC
Omg hahaha those feebas XD I have my milotic so I'm ok now but damn that one was so painful to evolve!

Yes I'm so glad my father was able to drive to get me. Much safer for all of us. I think my GP would have hesitated if I needed to take the train because my father is at risk by being diabetic. I'm doing much better already :) I even worked more than I did the rest of the week lol so this will help professionnally as well XD
How are you doing? <3

I keep getting feebas from all my 10km eggs so I have over 600 candy lol but I also have milotic and don't need more!

Aww I'm so happy to hear you're already feeling better! And it just goes to show how connected feeling good and mental health is connected to all other parts of life, immediately your work improved too! I think it will be a great and deserved weekend then<3
I'm good, same as ever week but quite busy this week so I barely noticed time passing. It's been boring but kind of productive and then thankfully my project deadline was today so I don't have to worry about this again until next week :D

My psy uses skype for her meetings and my GP through doctolib (app specifically to arrange meetings between patients and doctors), maybe you could ask them if later visits could be done this way? I agree it's so much better to see the person you're talking with. Really sorry that you're not in a safe environement to talk with your doctors. I hope you find a way to isolate yourself :/

Lmao I totally get you, I've listened to so many sad Adele and Taylor songs at times XD I'm not as familiar with Kelly Clarkson, what would be your favourite songs?

Stay safe as well <3 We will!
