Flashback Friday
Happy Friday! I’m heading off to a county fair this weekend because I need a blooming onion topped with chili cheese fries in my life. Followed by a flaming hot Cheetos covered caramel apple because yolo. Do kids still stay that nowadays? Anyways. Every week I go through the charts for this day in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we’re going back 5 years to the 3rd week of July, 2014. Some of the songs have been posted before, so we’ll see some comeback stages.
#3 K.Will “Day 1”
A fun bop from K.Will. It sounds like something I’ve heard before, but I can’t put my finger on it. It just feels really familiar to me. Anyways, he sounds good as usual, and he also looks like he’s having fun with the choreography.
#2 AOA “Short Hair”
My favorite song from the group! This was their follow up to their big hit “Miniskirt”, and also climbed to the top spot. I really liked this era, I thought they all looked real cute. And I really loved all the costumes for the live stages, like I have all of these in my closet now. Not necessarily for sexy times. Okay, maybe for sexy times.
#1 Beast “Good Luck”
This was one of the singles off of their mini album of the same name. I remember bits of the song, mainly the first part of the chorus. I like that chorus a lot. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the MV before. It looks like some of it is based off of Wong Kar-wai’s movie “2046”?

#4 Taeyang “Eyes, Nose, Lips”
I’ve come full circle with this song. I was okay with it at first, then it was everywhere and I was sick of it lol, but now I like it again. I do think it sounds way better live though. He wrote the song about actress Min Hyorin, and a few years later would sing it to her at their wedding. It stayed at the top of the charts for weeks.
#6 Hyomin featuring Loco “Nice Body”
The second Brave Brothers song this week. This was her solo debut single, and I forgot all about this! Blocked it out of my memory, probably. But now that I’ve seen the MV again, I remember this choreography…because of the measuring tape wtf. Loco looks really young here.
