Summary: Lee Hyukjae often wonders about why he loves Lee Donghae at all, and sometimes it doesn't really make sense- but when he thinks back on all the Donghae moments, it's then he understands.

This is quite a short one-shot done instantaneously in Biology when our teacher was talking about why people shouldn't wear red poppies because it's so meaningless and people just don't learn from wars and etc. I listened, but I wrote too.

What Hyukjae Doesn’t Know
An Eunhae !fluff Oneshot
Hyukjae doesn’t know why he’s in love with Donghae when he returns from dance practice, tired and sweaty, to find Donghae in Hyukjae’s pajamas, waving a piece of fabric in his face until he realizes that what the hell they’re his briefs and he has to chase the well-rested, hyperactive boy around the flat for his last pair of skin-coloured underwear.
Hyukjae doesn’t know why he’s in love with Donghae when all thirteen boys sit there on the sofas, watching an action movie and Donghae leans against Hyukjae and sneaks his hand into the popcorn bowl, grabbing fistfuls at a time. So when Hyukjae finally puts his own hand in, it’s empty, but he melts so automatically when he turns to glare a Donghae with those wide, innocent eyes staring right back at him.
Hyukjae doesn’t know why he’s in love with Donghae when it’s 3am in the morning and he’s perfectly fine, sleeping soundly in his own room. Then, legs start wrapping around him and probing hands begins to pull at his torso, turning him over. By then, he’s fully awake and he opens his eyes, still blurred with sleep, to see a certain Lee Donghae pressed up against his body so tightly that even though Hyukjae manages to fall asleep again, he can’t move for the next three hours.
Hyukjae doesn’t know if Donghae loves him anymore when he comes back from China and barely spares a sentence for Hyukjae; hanging around Siwon all the time. Hyukjae attempts to brew up some Donghae-ish conversation, but the latter remains unresponsive and calls Hangeng to cook him Beijing Fried Rice instead. Hyukjae wonders what’s gone wrong and tries one last time to confront Donghae but somehow it all ends with insults, screams and a heartbroken Hyukjae crying silently into his pillow.
Hyukjae knows that he’ll forgive Donghae no matter what when he comes sobbing to Hyukjae, saying that he’s sorry and he’ll buy him a new beanie if he’ll just forget how stupid and mean and nasty he had been to the elder and he’ll never ignore him ever again and Hyukjae can make him do anything- even the washing, although Donghae hates washing, and Hyukjae just holds him tight, promising that he’ll never, ever let go again.
Hyukjae knows that he’s completely, head-over-heels in love with Donghae when he feels the warm touch of a chaste kiss planted on his check and he turns around to see Donghae, flushed a light pink and with that adorable pout on his lips as he demands “I want one too, Hyukkie, give me one.”
And Hyukjae does.
