Any tips for hardcore weight loss?

I know this is pretty much a dead community, but I need some exercising/dieting tips.
So I'm pretty upset about my weight (like I wasn't before or anything lol), but the circumstances are a little bit different. So probably like 3-4 months ago, I got my first doctor's visit in a long time for some shots, but they also tested my blood. They said I had a slightly high blood pressure (but still within the "normal" range") and high cholesterol so they're concerned, because diabetes and and high blood pressure runs in my mom's side of the family. What's sparking me to really get serious about my weight now is pretty superficial, because not ONLY has my mom been bitching at me to eat less and exercise more since we're visiting relatives soon and she wants me to not look like a fat lump, but my high school prom is in less than two weeks and the dress that we ordered didn't fit on my twin sister (who I would assume is slightly lighter than me) so our mom is pretty pissy that she has to return and buy a bigger prom dress (for me).

I know it's unrealistic to lose some weight in only two weeks, but overall, I kind of need some suggestions for exercising and dieting, and this is what I've come up with so far:

I live in Arizona, where temperatures are soon to skyrocket to the 100-degree zone. Going outside will soon be an option I can't do, unless I go in the mornings or at night, which I can't do since a) I have an early class b) I'm bogged down with homework at night. My only slot of time that I could potentially exercise (since I've been using that time to take naps OTL) is between 3-5pm, this is for the weekdays, mind you. Hopefully, I can persuade my mom to get me a gym membership at the gym across my neighborhood, but what would be some good exercises I could do there? I definitely know I want to utilize the swimming pool there, but that's about it. In addition, I found a jumprope in my garage, and I heard jumproping is a good exercise, but I'm not sure how many reps and for how long that I should jumprope.

The dieting part for me will probably be the most difficult. My family is SUPER controlling over what I eat during dinner time, but I have myself to blame since I must admit I really hate vegetables. I especially hate salads, I refuse to digest lettuce. As of recently, I've persuaded my family to serve me a half a bowl of rice, and therefore I eat less, but I don't think it helps. I honestly think I should go on a diet of half a bowl of rice and green beans w/fruits for dessert. As for the lunch portion, lol, this is the worst part. I buy the food they serve at school and it's basically hamburgers w/ curly fries, pizza, orange chicken, etc. I've even bought the extras like chips and cookies. Recently, I've avoided the chips and cookies part, but in the end, I know the food they serve at school is terrible. I'm wondering if I should persuade my mom to just let me bring my lunch to school, but what would be a healthy choice for a bagged lunch? (I should probably note that I'm not the biggest fan of cold-cut sandwiches and the like >__>)

In summary, I'm 5'1" and gosh I haven't weighed myself in over a year, let's assume I'm over 130 lbs. I've been chubby since childhood so I'm thinking my weight is slightly hereditary, but I'm really desperate to lose some weight. Again, I know it's impossible to lose lots of weight in a short amount of time, but I'm hoping I can utilize your guys' advices for long term, since I'll be on summer break soon!

food & cooking, health/medical/dieting, help me! sos!
