[Several small footsteps could be heard rushing down the hallway. Rika burst open the door to Rena's room, not thinking whether she'd be hostile or not. She wasn't going to give up on her like she did last time and many times before.]

Rena?

[The bat still in her hands, it was slack within her grip, loosely in her grasp with the tip on the ground. She faced away from the door, her eyes hidden beneath her bangs as she continued to face the window.]

The window...got a little broken. One minute everything was fine...and the next I didn't realize, but I'd--

I'll buy a new one...don't worry.

I'm not... worried about that right now, Rena. But we'll have to clean up this mess. You could get hurt walking around here.

[Rika wasn't afraid this time. She approached Rena's side, carefully stepping around the fallen glass shards. She reached out and lightly placed her fingertips on the hand which held the bat. She spoke gently, trying soothe the other girl.]

Rena? You might want to put that down, alright? Our roommates might get frightened.

[As her friend's fingers fell over hers, coaxing the bat from her grasp, Rena slowly released it, allowing the younger girl to take the object from her. She didn't want her roommates to be frightened. She wasn't that same person. She didn't want them to think of her as a danger...or in that way.]

That...just so everyone knows...was a long time ago. Rena isn't the same as that anymore...I wasn't myself then...

...I know. We know.

[As soon as she placed the bat against the wall, Rika rejoined Rena's side, continuing to speak comfortingly as a means to soothe her heart. She placed a reassuring hand over Rena's and guided over to sit ontop of the bed.]

It's just the past. The Rena everyone knows now is very cute, a genuinely kind person, and a good friend friend.

[Taking a breath, Rena followed Rika to sit on the bed. She still felt shaken...and now embarrassed, uncertain of how to react. Her friends words were reassuring though. In fact...that Rika wasn't acting afraid, or nervous by her, even after that what she'd seen. Somehow that fact alone meant a great deal to her. Swallowing hard, she tried to swallow a couple of tears that began to prickle the corners of her eyes, but she quickly wiped them away]

Rika-chan...is a good friend.

[She said, trying to smile. Would anyone else be as understanding? What had happened at her old school she had hoped to keep a secret from the friends she cared about dearly.If she was lucky maybe this would just pass over. It was what she wanted. Lately a lot of things had begun to bother her since Keiichi disappeared. The deities, feeling a bit lonely, and the curses. The city at times was enough to drive a person crazy...
