OH god, you guys, I was supposed to go to bed. Why, why did I start looking around at blogs and crap?
Some lovely, wonderful, kind, gorgeous soul has posted the entire BBC film of the 1954 version of 1984 starring Peter Cushing on YouTube in 15 parts, each about 7-8 minutes long. Dear god.

This thing is a masterpiece, you guys. Even if 1984 is outdated by now, its message is still quite clear in our society, right now. This movie is chilling, downright scary in some parts. It's heartbreaking, too. Peter Cushing is damn straight one of the most underrated actors of all time (and I'm not just saying that because I'm obsessed with him) and nowhere was he as good as he is here. This is a fantastic, groundbreaking piece of television history, and I have no idea why it's not on dvd.

"You may as well say goodbye." aah. so good.
cross-posted. sorry.
a real update will be forthcoming. I'm in the process of moving right now, but once I get settled I will update this journal on a regular basis. :)
