Oh, oh. I really enjoyed that. It's like Harry Potter by way of Jonathan Lethem, or Neil Gaiman when he decides to play with genres. Well done! :D

Thanks so much! I love outsider's looks at canon, and Voldemort is such a real evil overlord cliche type I *had* to try and write a 'simple solution' :).

You hit just about everyone of my buttons with this one.

Outside perspective, with a well developed OC? Check.

Gangster themes? Check.

Dark, but not excessive ending? Check.

Fabulous writing that isn't too florid? Check.

I mean, honestly, I adored this. It was an absolute blast to read, despite my heart being torn to itty bitty pieces like a slice of cheap white bread. I love the hitman, with his ambiguity and guilt and need to finish the job. Really well done.

I'm so, so happy it worked so well for you - and I totally fell in love with the hitman too while writing :).

That's one of the nicest things I ever heard, and now I *so* have to read your fic, because, well, if you use such images in 'feedback'... Thanks!!!

I've read this before, haven't I? Unbeta'd or something! I have to have, because I knew the ending was coming. Well, it doesn't matter, it was a fresh bit of pleasure for me and I didn't want to miss the opportunity to gush. ^_^ Heart-breaking and excellent.

Yep - posted a less edited version on my LJ a while back :). I'm very, very happy you liked it! Poor Harry, alas :(.
