The Doctor hit one more button and they were off to the Ponds. His eyes kept finding the young woman sitting on the chair in the console room. She was different than what he thought-- jaded, less talkative. Shew as a soldier that much was clear.
She looked up from the grate to catch his eyes. A small smile reached her lips before she went back to the grate. The woman before him was not his River, the one who would know his name.
The TARDIS stopped and they both looked at the door. He moved to where she was sitting and held out his hand. Hesitantly, she took it and they walked out the door.
