It's an insane hour in the morning, yet I couldn't sleep. Doctors appointment...not tomorrow anymore, TODAY, but there you go. n_n;
At least I had an idea to write about, Jamie? GO LIVE. :D
I don't like this, but I don't know what to change or askjfl;wk so I thought I'd just put it up here. u_________u
I mix my tenses, don't I? o_o Or something. My wording is whacky?
The piercing shriek that alarmed all those in hearing distance ended up being quickly absorbed into the surroundings, tatami mats efficient in that respect. The initial startling sound may have been abruptly cut short, yet there was still more noises of painful distress originating from the small child.
Neji, of course, had already pinpointed what, when, why, who, how, and for what reasons. It was easily seen with a cursory glance, and he didn’t waste anymore time after swiftly reaching his conclusion. Placing his brush carefully at rest, he promptly reacted. Small clothed feet padded on the same tatami mats, his step the only source where one could derive his urgency. The small boy had exited the room before the echo of the first scream could not sound.
Unfortunately, a mistake must have been made by one of the maids. Perhaps she was new. Perhaps she would be an old maid now.
Hinata, of course, had already identified cause and reaction, yet had employed her own clothed feet to move before her cousin, using the same time to reach the source of disorder and to conclude fully how she herself would respond to said disorder. Her small hands, having discarded their puzzle pieces, clutched at flailing miniature ones, pulling the small body away and into her arms, trying to calm.
The embrace couldn’t allow itself to have much of an effect, as its time was cut abruptly as an adult, with his concise steps, removed the still crying, thrashing youngest child from her elder sister’s instinctive care. Neji stood behind his father, having retrieved the nearest responsible person for this situation, yet didn’t notice his fingers curling around the cloth of his fathers yukata before it was jerked suddenly away.
Hizashi had acted in fluent movements after his son had come across him the hallway, uttering clearly those direct five words. Unbarring the sliding door that lead to the veranda, his large, rapid strides allowed him to have the small Hanabi-chan into the cooling water of the koi fish pond of the garden. Her cries were muffled as he gently submerged her entirely, yet swiftly bringing her head above the water, and firmly holding her small body safely within his hands.
Hanabi, of course, hadn’t yet fully grasped what had occurred yet, and was in such a second state of astonishment that she had forgotten about physically reacting to it in the form of rapid movements of her limbs. The tears that had been shed were washed away with the pond water, as her clear white eyes stared up at her uncle, as he comforted her with what she could discern as jumbled words and soft expressions. What was before red hot heat melted and dispersed into the cool water, leaving only fiery marks over skin.
Sensing his niece no longer distraught or in pain and was rather just wet, Hizashi wrapped her up in his arms and sleeves, so that the small body wouldn’t be any more negatively effected by this afternoon’s events. Turning around, he made sure to reassure the two older children intently viewing the proceedings from the doorway.
Walking back towards the building, Hizashi ushered them back into their room with the guarantee that Hanabi-chan isn’t crying anymore; while seeing the disrupted items and soaked tatami mats, he decided against leaving them alone in the room together. Directing the two eldest to follow him, Hizashi made his way to the compound clinic, to have the girl in his arms thoroughly checked over.
It was truly astounding where a simple brew of tea could find itself. Hizashi had discovered what had occurred to his missing tea, as what had been his intention; he would have to wait just a bit longer to retrieve another.
