Some Terran food isn't bad, but what is this strange goo I keep finding in the mess hall? It comes in different colors and has the consistency of gelled rubber, and it seems it doesn't cast a true shadow. And it...wobbles. Terran foods are as mad as some Terrans themselves.

I think what you're describing- oh dear inmate of mine, is jello.

Is it actually a food, or some sort of--decoration?

It can be both. A dietary snack as well as something to impress your guests with on holidays.

It's also fairly easy to make.

What goes in it? Why does it--move like that? It looks like something I would have used on my ship.

It comes with a powder that you mix with sugar and water and when you're done doing that... you leave it to chill and it, ah, solidifies!

It's not very solid. The texture is...it seems like it wouldn't be a pleasant food.

Oh, but it is. It's quite delectable!
