Some Terran food isn't bad, but what is this strange goo I keep finding in the mess hall? It comes in different colors and has the consistency of gelled rubber, and it seems it doesn't cast a true shadow. And it...wobbles. Terran foods are as mad as some Terrans themselves.

I don't know if it will poison me or not. Though if I'm dead, that would hardly matter, would it?

You are human, though, aren't you? I know some Romulan food would poison a human, and it must be true in reverse. It is not, though, as if it could kill me even if it was poisonous.

Oh. Yeah. You might want to check with McCoy to see, then. He probably knows more about Romulan dietary stuff.

McCoy might try to poison me on purpose. I've been told it's alive, but I don't think I believe that. Is the Admiral the sort of person who would serve food that might harm any of the Barge's occupants?

It's not alive. It's just flavored gelatin. And I don't think he would...but then, I don't think McCoy would go around poisoning people on purpose, either.
