I haven't thought of Legend of Korra in AGES. The first couple episodes of Book One were so disappointing and off-putting I didn't bother keeping up with the rest as they aired and almost had to force myself to marathon the whole thing a few months later. The things that bugged me so much at the start turned out to be dropped like a hot potato in subsequent episodes, but I still wasn't exactly wild about them. So the initial announcement that there would be three more seasons left me cold.
HOWEVER. Now that more details about Book Two are starting to appear, I am gaining a tiny bit of restored hope.
Korra discovers that it was her father and Tenzin rather than Aang who kept her locked away, and after a Dark Spirit attacks, Korra breaks off her studies under Tenzin and takes up Unalaq as her instructor.

sinopsis of Book Two: Spirits, episode 1: Rebel Spirit Korra finds the twins annoying, as they look down on her Southern Water Tribe heritage, thinking she is a "rube", despite being the Avatar.

Desna and Eska I like this. These are things I like. Korra's culture shock - going from the hunter-gatherer ways of the Southern Water Tribe to the modern metropolis lifestyle of Republic City - was something I wish they'd explored more in Book One. If this is any indication, it looks like they might still in Book Two, however subtly! And when Book One first started airing, I
ranted at length about how aggravating and skeevy I found Korra's "prisoner" situation, so a further, critical look at that is just what the doctor ordered.
I'm not getting my hopes up too much, but hey - what have I got to lose but continued indifference? *crosses fingers*
I could also comment on revelations from "The Search", I suppose, but... eh. I'm not going to form an opinion on the question of Zuko's parentage until we've got the whole story. I AM intensely curious what all that stuff about Azula's "destiny" is about, though. Because correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think we've had any hints whatsoever before this that she had any destinial options besides "take over the nation/world or completely wreck herself in the attempt". It's almost pitiable how much so, come to think of it. So, reeeeally curious how that's going to turn out!
