Ghihi, glad you liked it. x3

It's funny that you think Relena's the one that would want kids, because while I think she would love them with all their might once they're there, I can't actually imagine Relena deciding to have kids. In my head, their first was totally unexpected and accidental. (It's all because of her own history with parents, both the Peacecrafts and the Darlians. Their fate didn't break her down, but it did give her some peculiar hang-ups about family.) Heero, by contrast, would be all "whatever, it's your choice" beforehand (totally unconcerned, because he knows Relena has no actual desire for kids), have a bit of a nervous breakdown when they find out there's one on the way, and then square his shoulders, throw himself onto the challenge, and become Super Dad. Easily confuzzled and oftentimes awkward, but Super Dad nonetheless. He'd just keep trying until he got the hang of it, because failure means death and smelly diapers all over the place.

Katrina's name is Katrina because I am so very bad at coming up with names. Naming character's kids after dead peeps is taking the easy way out, but I much prefer it over the mental anguish of having to find something that fits with both the characters and the character at large AND which doesn't start irritating me the moment I've decided on it. I am impossible. Though I admit that while I understand your peeve, I've personally got very little issues with the "named after x" trope because I've always had to listen to my grandmother groan that none of the girls from my generation ended up as a "Harrieta". (My mother, my grandmother and my great-grandmother are/were all officially named Harrieta, though nobody calls them that in reality.)

And as to the kids genders... no real reason. Unless you wanna go back to that one Christmas fic I wrote all the way back in 2005, where I made up offspring for all the standard het couples, and which still makes up my head!canon for whenever I feel like writing kidfic. The boy hasn't actually appeared since said Christmas fic though, while the girl has, so I dunno. I just felt like keeping him alive for old time's sake.

Ok, I was going to reply to this earlier but then 108 happened and I kind of went off to SPACE for awhile.

I don't really have specific details about why I think she would want kids, just that I think that she would like them someday, and with her job it would be better for her to plan for them then to just have them happen unexpectedly, because then she can prepare and figure out what she is going to do, because honestly, Heero would never be the impetus to having kids, boy has issues. I don't know if I would view him as super dad, but I would strangely picture him as the kind of insanely compassionate father who will just listen to their kids talk and while he won't be the most demonstrative of parents he kind forges his own weird way to relate to them. In some ways they would amaze him because of all the turns his life could take, that would be the one he least expected. I don't know if I actually buy that he would treat it like a mission because I do think that is a bit of an exaggeration of his character, which I guess would work in parody fic such as Yardwork, but not so much in more serious ventures.

ALso the main reason why I wouldn't want it to come from an unwanted pregnancy, is that I hate how all surprise unplanned and not necessarily wanted pregnancies end with the keeping of babies and the woman doesn't honestly consider the other two options. And then things get political, so if I do pregnancy fic I prefer for the pregnancy to be anticipated so I don't have to deal with that whole drama, and also don't have to worry about reducing it to nothing more than a ploy to either keep the parents together or to keep them a part as the case may be.

I have no problem picking names. My peeve goes back to having the kids just be carbon copies of the parents. If you would like to know my personal head!canon, Heero and Relena have two daughters, who are about 8 years a part. Yes that is a difference, but that is how it goes, the first is Emma and the second is Caroline. I think the key is not to get too super special awesome with the names, and with GWing's I kept the names pretty traditional in retrospect as a lot of the Western names in the series were pretty traditional: Sally, Dorothy, Hilde, Catherine, Sylvia etc (actually it is the dudes that have most of the weird names.) And I just think of something that sounds simple and aesthetically pleasing with the characters' names and whether I think it fits right. I also have DxH and 6x9 daughters, although again the fact that they are all girls in my head goes back to my own love of daughters. (Names there are Rebecca Maxwell and Lydia Noin by the way)

(This reply is... atrociously late, but I only just stumbled upon it again in my mailbox. I suck, but whatever.)

I think it says volumes about my interest in drama of that kind that I had never even considered the possibility of unplanned pregnancy turning into such a mess. Oops?

I like those names. :) On a related note, I was looking at some wedding pictures of my parents recently, and my oldest younger brother looks so much like my dad did around his age, it's scary. And there was one picture that made me do a double take because at first glance, I could have sworn I was in it, instead of my grandmother. Truth In Television Fanfiction. XD; I personally love it when characters' (biological) offspring displays all kinds of little similarities to their parents, because it helps make the OCs feel like they belong among the CCs, but like most everything else, it works best in moderation.

Well if I remember correctly, that comment was also ridiculously late so we're even!

See where as I am so tired of pregnancy!drama in every single way, and in my view Relena and Heero have enough non-baby related drama that it isn't really needed? And I don't know I get really annoyed when taking that keeping the baby is the default as opposed to even considering abortion or adoption as if once you get pregnant you have to be a mother god damn it.

Little similarities are great and are true (and of course physical appearance is too unless you have them choose to adopt which I also think is valid because due to Heero's upbringing I could see conceiving being difficult), but I find that the majority of fandom does not know how to write kids at all. They are either super clones of their parents with no original thoughts of their own, and/or are super precocious and cutesy to fault. And they seem to forget that kids are people with their own wants and desires, just that they are at a different stage of development (which I think if you are ever going to write long bouts of kid!fic you should probably read at least a bit about child development and the stages and all that). Are they similar to their parents? Of course, we get a lot from our parents, but we aren't just clones or version 2.0 of either of our parents. And I think that is what annoys me there.

I once kickstarted a wank where someone purported that Relena was "too strong" of a woman to have kids and in the wank report on Fandom Wank someone broached the idea of having one of the Gundam Pilots kids growing up to be an accountant. And I do think that is kind of a hilarious place to go that would be interesting in the tension between parents who were living this huge life of politics, spies, gives birth to a person who pretty much goes to into one of the most ordinary and dullest of professions. (No offense to accountants, my mom is one and my brother will be too, but it is a pretty drab when compared to espionage and queen of the world)

...

RELENA used HULK SMASH on enemy BABY!
It's super effective!
Crytical hit!
Enemy BABY fainted!

Yeah, I got nothing.

Behold, my new head!canon. That is genius. Why doesn't anyone write about this?
