I am posting far more talk than fic lately, which doesn't feel like me at all. But I've been writer's blocked pretty much constantly since the Church of Lemons ended, so I guess the fannish urges need to go somewhere. So!
1) I have just decided to read anything Naomi Novik has written, ever. It only took 2000 words. HEEEEEEE! *silences To Watch/Read List's agonized wails with a hammer*
2) This whole Published Authors Rant Against Fanfic Authors And Fanfic Authors Rant Back, Only Much More Sensibly And Coherently business that is apparently hot right now warms my heart. Seriously. I often feel embarrassed when asked what I write or why, because people tend to either laugh me in the face or make funny faces of their own, but this business reminds me why, in spite of that, being a fanfic writer makes me feel so good. The only downside here is that metafandom combined with an interesting topic creates black holes to rival TVTropes'.
3) Reasons Robyn is awesome,in no particular order:
I need to advertise her now and then so she'll keep dedicating vids to me. (Kidding, kidding!) To paraphrase the reason behind this awesomeness: "If canon won't give us what we want, let's make shit up!" This coming from a vidder = AWESOMENESS.
4) Pictures that singlehandedly got Omnicat interested in a fandom through sheer pretty, epic or squee. *silences To Watch/Read List's agonized wails with a large drill*
D.Gray Man. If this pic does not predict badassery, I don't know what does.
Final Fantasy X. It was either this pic or an AMV using this scene. Whichever. It has not disappointed so far. :D
Fullmetal Alchemist. Someone's constant explosions of glee helped too. ;) But an icon using this pic sealed the deal. It is so ridiculously cute.
Canaan. Supernatural detectives with a chance of yuri. A winning combo if I ever saw one.
Blue Submarine Nr 6. Can't currently remember what it's about (it's been a while), but look at the cute fish-person!
