001 ~ [Voice]

Jul 05, 2010 21:05

[Hey, this wasn't the Western Air Temple! This was... a boat? It had to be a boat. It felt like a boat. And if Aang was on a boat, that wasn't good news. He jumped to his feet and looked around. This didn't seem like a prison cell. It didn't even look like a Fire Nation ship! Where was he...? In any other situation, he'd be jumping out to see where ( Read more... )

can you hear me now?, missin' my bison, !voice

[Sokka is STILL in the library. But the voice over the communicator is more than enough to make him drop his book that he'd just pulled off the shelf RIGHT ON HIS FOOT. After a few seconds of groaning, he picks up the communicator.]

Aang? Is that you? Or am I just going crazy?

Sokka! ...how did you get in the box?

Wait, nevermind. Where are you? Where am I!?

Whoa, slow down there.

[Right, Sokka, like you were completely chill when you got here.]

You're on a boat called the M.S. Elegante. We're stuck here. All of us, actually. Soooome of us have been here longer than others.

Wait. Wait, what...?

We're on a boat!? Oh, I already knew that... We're stuck!?

I'm so confused... this isn't like that time after Azula got me, is it? [But wouldn't he have woken up with hair again?]

I said slow down! Geez. Yes, we are on a boat. No, it's not like that time, but Azula's here, so be on your guard.

[The last sentence is said with grave importance. He won't mention his death last week. Not yet.]

Also, your bending might be a little weird...

Azula... [Just how many people were here?]

Wait, what do you mean by "weird"?

Uh, well. Katara said hers made her a lot more tired than usual. I've only just been working on this hypothesis, it only really came up recently.

I guess I could test it and see...?

[Cue some AIRBENDING. Which means a very load WHOOSH sound coming through the communicator.]

...nothing feels... weird over here! [Except that Aang sounds completely out of breath, that is.]

[Sokka doesn't pretend to sound impressed, he can't see it. Aang could be blowing into the mic for all Sokka knows.]

Katara said the effect kicked in after she was working with the water for a little while.

She's also from a different "when" than I am, so that miiiight have something to do with it?

Well, I don't feel like making myself tired, so I guess I'll hold off on testing the rest of my bending until later...

[Oh right, the weird "different time" thing!] Uhm. So, "when" are you from then, Sokka?

I've been here for almost four months now, but I was brought here... about a day or so after you and Zuko got back from meeting the Dragons. Does that mean anything to you?

[You'll have to excuse him, the "4 months" thing just blew his mind for about the tenth time today. He collects himself when he hears the word "dragons".]

Ye-yeah! The Dragons! That's the last thing I remember doing... only we had just gotten back. Maybe a few hours after...? Then it just gets fuzzy, and suddenly I was here.

Well, then! At least you're not from months before that, like Katara.

[Does it still frustrate him? Yes. Yes, it does.]

This is so weird! I just saw you only a few hours ago! And you've been here for... months...

[He gives a frustrated sigh. This feels a lot like the time prior to the Day of Black Sun... only at least then, he eventually woke up from his nightmares!]

Sorry, Aang.

[He pulls a face.]

This kind of weirdness? I'm used to this kind of weirdness.

You'd think I'd be used to it too, after everything we've gone through. But this is a whole new kind of weirdness.
