Rules for Improvisation

Show up.
Pay Attention.
Tell the truth.
Don't care about the outcome.

These things were posted on a sign at dance camp in the lodge where we have our night time dances. I think they relate to improv dancing but they can also relate to life. I am finding much mileage with the idea of releasing an agenda (#4: "don't care about the outcome") and moving forward without a plan. This feels good, more spontaneous and authentic with who I am now. What are your rules for life? Own pith instructions for living?

Dance camp summary: Great connections, singing from vocal improv of sounds to Simon and Garfunkel, conversations, salsa rueda (want to learn more), contact improvisation, boogies where I dance mostly with me and love it, nature, community, new ideas. Learning and exchanging Thai Massage was a highlight, and I want more of this. All good stuff. After all that social time, which I love, the introvert in me needs alone time and time to process.
