Emotional Guidance Scale

Dec 24, 2007 16:39

Something else new this year:. What I learned had to do with emotions,  and this below is the Emotional Guidance Scale. I use this as something to guide me. I pick a thought I am having and see where it lands on this scale. The scale helps me to move up to a slightly better thought and I feel better. It works. Notice Anger down there near the bottom. We often berate ourselves for feeling it. It his higher than grief and despair. Sometimes getting angry is going up the scale on the way to joy. Anger can be good! All of these moods change. I have learned to become more conscious of them as information to direct my thoughts. Moods are no longer something to beat myself up over, merely information like road signs to allowing myself to feel better.

First I reach for JOY, and all else follows

Once you consciously identify your current state of emotion, it becomes easier for your to understand whether you are choosing thoughts that move you closer to your desired destination or farther from your desired destination. If you will make the improved feeling or emotion your real destination, then anything and everything that you want will quickly follow.

- These words were taken from the "Ask and It Is Given Card" deck, scribed from the words of Abraham .
