So the first day of class was today. My first class in the morning, the seminar on Apartheid, probably will be an exciting, interesting, and somewhat laid-back class. Apart from several reading assignments, we're not having much in the way of tests and paper: only a midterm, final, and an open-ended paper on any topic that deals with 20th century South Africa. It sounds a lot less intense than the Ancient Western Civilization / Comparative Civilizations that most of the Honors students are taking. The next class, Organic Chemistry, is going to be difficult and stressful; to make matters worse, I'm the only freshman in that class. It'll be the bane of my existence in college. The last class I had today was Differential Equations / Linear Algebra; it probably will be a typical college class: optional homework assignments, daily quizzes, a few tests, and the midterm and final exams.
Tomorrow, I'll take my super-early-morning Economics class. When I scheduled it, I thought I could easily wake up at around 6:30 and saunter down to the building, but now, it seems that I'll probably throw on the first set of clothes I see and run like hell to the building. It's probable that I'll drop it and take it as a correspondence course or during the summer term.
