new fic: Late

The second of two fics for ralst's December challenge. Originally, this was supposed to be a Cold Case piece, but it evolved as I was writing it into a crossover (with the unintentionally hilarious CSI:NY) and also became more depressing than I had intended. Lilly Rush is a pretty depressing character, honestly. This is more or less G rated.

God, dear, this is gorgeous. There's something so quiet, so still and somber and fragile that I think I held my breath as I read it, slightly afraid that if I moved suddenly it would shatter into a million shards of ice. So, so lovely. You should write more. Much more.

Ah, thank you so much! I've been in and out for a while with annoying RL stuff so am embarrassingly late in responding, but I really appreciate the lovely comment.

I'm hoping to write more in 2010. We'll see how long my semi-resolution lasts. ;)

Heart-breaking! There isn't enough Lilly fic out there--I've moved on from the show, but not really from Lil. She is so just as you described her, and I adored your language. This was really moving, and you created a whole world of potential there before letting it dissolve into thin air. Sad stuff.
