New Crayon Art! Portrait of @logospilgrim
I've been a fan of logospilgrim for years now, and have always received nothing but kindness from this gentle professor. I've been wanting to draw the professor (plus some other portraits based on the professor's large photo collection) for a long time now, and I feel immesnly releaved that I FINALLY got it done.
This is the second crayon portrait I've completed where the subject is partially obscuring their face with their hand, and the second time I've used an almost black background to create a dark or even isolated appearance. This is also the first time I've ever attempted to add any kind of iconic imagery with the subtle hint of a halo around the professor's head, refering to paintings in the Middle Ages.
logospilgrim has no idea I was drawing this, and my hopes is that it serves as a big THANK YOU and a wonderful surprise. I have a few more planned, too (if that's alright). I's also be happy to mail the original to you, logospilgrim!
