An early morning with Erik's Neuroses.
Starting roughly at 6am:
"Ok brain, you and I know we've put this off long enough. The pages are sketched, you can sketch no further no matter how much you try. It's time to go learn Photoshop."
"I hate how I can't scan directly into Photoshop I hate how I can't use the slider on my tablet to zoom I hate the clumsy way you have to put text into an image."
"Oh god these tools make no fucking sense! What does this do? What does this do? This thing doesn't make any sense at all! That's now how this one worked in Paint Shop Pro!"
"Fuck fuck fuck how the hell am I going to figure out how to make speech bubbles if I can't figure out how to make this fucking pen tool work? Fuck fuck fuck fuck!"
(3 fruitless Google searches later)"AAAAA! I'VE BEEN AT THIS ONE ASPECT FOR 45 MINUTES SO MUCH TIME IS BEING WASTED!"
"I can't take this! I'm having a nervous breakdown! I can't get my pages done in this thing because I'm not a crazy super-genius who can read the eldritch script used to describe this programs fucking functions!"
"I'm going to hook up my old computer. Yes. I don't care if I lose all my files when I have to clean the thing out it MUST be better than this!"
(deep breaths) "Ok, I'll try one last time to figure out how this pathing thing works..."
(one mix of a vague google result and personal experimentation later)"Oh... that was... strangely intuitive. Doing speech bubbles will actually be a little easier now that I know how to do this..."
"Hmm, I actually really like the way my lines are coming out, I think Photoshop is a little more responsive to my tablet's pressure sensitivity."
"Zooming with the little preview window is actually not that bad."
"Wait a minute, can I use this tool to do... no way, I couldn't do that. Could I? Maybe I should try..."
"Holy shit! I CAN do that! This is going to make backgrounds so much fucking easier in the future!"
"What? Old program? Fuck that shit. This thing is fucking sweet. Crap, I haven't eaten in 8 hours."
OM NOM NOM AND HERE IS WHERE I'M AT NOW.
Long story short I started using Photoshop today and it began to rape me up the butt but like an anime character I eventually started to like it.
