MMMMMMMMMMPPPPPPHHHHHHHH
Avatar: the Last Airbender.
It has been such a huge part of my life, ever since it first came out when I was in like, fifth grade. From the moment that first hour-long episode ended...I was in love. In love with Aang's playfulness (or maybe just in love with Aang. >.>), Sokka's wise-cracking, Katara's motherliness...I loved it all. I always looked forward to new episodes and the new characters, creatures and places that would be introduced. The Avatar Universe was just so interesting and magical, and I knew it could only get better with each episode.
Since I became obsessed with Avatar, I have obtained a HUGE collection of Asian trinkets that remind me of the show. Seriously. You should see my room. It's like....Asia in there. o.o
Man...I...I just can't believe it's finally over!
Every episode of that show was like an escape…an adventure, if you will.
Every time a new episode aired, I could go sit on my couch, snuggle up in a blanket and just get sucked into the Avatar World.
All my troubles would just…fade away, and the only thing that mattered was Aang and the Gang.
I’m so glad the creators and the staff worked so incredibly hard to make this show what it is…
THE MOST AMAZING THING TO COME OUT OF AMERICAN ANIMATION IN A LOOOOOOONG TIME.
Oh dear. Where to start? The ending of the finale was so awesome, I can hardly remember the beginning!
Okay.
TOPH IS SO AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEE
(she’s the only character who has a last name! YEAHYEAH)
I loved her metal suit thing when she was on the fire nation airship!
WAY TO GO MISS METAL BENDER
Sheesh, those firebenders on the ship with her sure got their asses handed to them. XD
But OMG I nearly died when Sokka almost dropped her to her doom!!!!!!
He was all “I guess this is the end…” and she was like “-TEARTEAR-“
Come on, Sokka, you weenie. Toph doesn’t weigh that much. You were scooping her up and carrying her around like she was a little kitten when she got her feet burned. >:C
He must have sweaty hands. Ew.
I love him, though. He’s such a fanboy.
“YEAH WOOHOO GO AANG!!! AIRBENDING SLICE!”
And I’m sorry, but his Suki sand sculpture was adorable.
Toph and Aang are like “OMG U PHAIL”
And Suki’s like “Awwww. I think it’s sweet.”
-SUPERSOKKACHEEKKISS-
Everyone in the Aang Gang got a love interest except poor Toph.
I like to believe she ends up with Teo. :D
Of course I would think that, since he’s basically Aang and I was once a rabid Taang shipper.
Opposites attract, guys!
♥ I loooooooooooooooove me some Teo~ ♥
OMG THE LION TURTLE
How epic was that?
Remember when we first saw a picture of it when the Gaang was in that sunken library? YEAH!
I was like “Hooooly crap, if that thing shows up in a future episode, I will have an awesome-induced seizure.”
So, I guess when you sit on a Lion Turtle’s back, you don’t exist? That’s pretty screwed up. But interesting.
I wonder why that is?
Aaaaaah
When this comes out on DVD, I am turning dat commentary on and I be absorbing dat grand Avatar knowledgeeee
I remember hearing about Toph learning earthbending from badger moles waaay before it was put into one of the episodes, thanks to the commentaries.
And LOL @ Ju Dee being based off of Avatar’s producer or something, Miken Whatserbucket,
I noticed that the music suddenly became AWESOME in this episode.
It sounded like they got a freakin orchestra to play for them or something.
Oooohhh~ I loved when Zuko and Azula started dueling, and instead of the music being all actiony, it was like…kind of slow and depressing.
OH JEEZ AZULA
She was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo crazy!!!!
It was only a matter of time before she cracked and started cutting all her hair off and bawling and seeing visions of Ursa.
Wow. I actually kind of felt sorry for her.
Katara is so cool~
She frickin chained Azuzu ( Typo. Not changing it.) to the ground!
She didn’t get the crap beaten out of her like I had hoped, but seeing her all insane and disheveled and falling apart was just as satisfying.
The Aang and Ozai battle left me speechless. Like, throughout the whole episode, I was either going “You’re stuuuuupiiiid!” or “What is going on here…?” or “NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! SUKI/TOPH/ZUKO/AANG!!!!” but….I was just so absorbed in it. It was like…wow. That moment was what the entire series had been building up to…back when I first started liking this show, it seemed so far away. But here I was, seeing it for the very first time. It was a historic moment.
I knew Aang was going to be able to go into the Avatar State somehow! And to think, all he needed was a little poke in the back. (I should have known. Pokes are very powerful in this series. Remember Combustion Man? He got poked in the forehead by a little pebble, then he couldn’t combust things anymore! :0)
I loooooooooooooved when Aang had those five little fire tentacles coming out of his airbubble, and he was like…using them to walk around and stuff. So cool!
And then when he had the airbubble with the ring of fire surrounding it, and then there were rocks and water floating around him inside the bubble? OH MAN.
That was such a powerful image. Once again, I thought back to when I first started liking the show. I just wanted to drag the younger me into the future and say “Look. Look at this boy. This is what he becomes.”
Then when he TOOK AWAY OZAI’S BENDING. That was so perfect! When you think about it, that was probably a worse punishment than death, anyways! Stupid Ozai depended so much on his bending. It was basically all he had, and when you take that away…well, he has nothing except his good looks!
THANK YOU, MAGICAL LION TURTLE, FOR YOUR AMAZING GIFT
ahhhhh but we never got to find out what happened to Zuko's mommy!!!!!!!
That was veeeeeeeeerry upsetting.
I actually probably wouldn't have even thought of that if Zuko hadn't asked Ozai where she was.
Then it's like -cut back to the Aang Gang-
AND THEN IT NEVER GOES BACK TO ZUKO AND OZAIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
D:
Omg
Katara and Aang’s kiss at the end of the episode
WTTFFFFFF
It wasn’t even a kiss. They were freaking making out.
I was like EEEEWWWWWWW
But then I thought of how happy Aang must have felt, and I decided it was kind of an appropriate ending, no matter how much it grossed me out. (12 year olds should not make out with people.) He got his girl, he saved the world without killing anyone…s’all good. Now all he has to do is make more Airbenders! I think the best way to do that would be to go around and impregnate random ladies. Y'know, besides Katara. I think that would speed things up a bit.
He should start with Toph.
Oh man. How I will miss that show. How I will MISS IT.
:’<
At least there’s still that M. Night Shyamalan movie to look forward to!
Eeehhhh
I wish I could find some more information on it.
And I really hope it doesn’t suck. x_x
Maybe Mike and Bryan will make some kind of spin-off!
You know, instead of Avatar: the Last Airbender it would be Avatar: [insert new series here]
OOOHHHHHH MAN I HOPE
