Two weeks ago I ditched the story I've been working on since Xmas. I've been pretty close to dumping it and pulling out the month or so previous, but clung on as long as I could. And then I had to admit that there was no way in hell I'd be ready to post the thing by June (based on the earliest possible post date I could well have been assigned) and still retain my sanity.

I've always got half-finished and almost-finished fic on my hard drive, though. I tend to collect them. So I had a dig around and pulled a thing out that I hated when I stopped writing about six months ago, but, upon re-reading, kinda loved. So I've been finishing it. I've got, I think, one scene left to write before I've got a proper first draft, and any edits should be doable within the time allotted (though I'll continue to hope for a later post date LOL).

I may end up having beta issues, too. Both my knows-me-best beta and my complete-hard-ass beta are on fandom hiatus because RL. I have someone lined up for pre-reading, but in changing my story I also completely changed my pairing, so that could be an issue as well.

I'm thinking I might put my hand up for beta duty, too. I'm nervous, because editing at the same time, but I'd like to help, if I can.

ETA: completely forgot about the whole poll part of this post woops! Probably because the beta thing is really the only thing I'm in need of, and I'm not really ready to do anything about that until I've actually got something I'm willing to show someone. And, yep, time is ticking, because I have to show an artist soon O.O But I like to fix everything I'm capable of fixing before I hand it to anyone I expect feedback from, just so they're not wasting their very valuable time.

Maybe more social 'how's your BB going, what are you up to?' type posts? I find it's harder to conveniently procrastinate when I feel like I'm not alone, that there's a whole bunch of other people writing and editing their guts out and sharing that process. Having those kinds of posts through the posting period would be awesome, too.
