Hmm... that's an interesting idea, but it would wind up in a whole lot of big bang participants knowing what other writers are writing. The bigbang is supposef to be a surprise. There's no rule against participants betaing for other participants or alpha reading or participating in a feeback filter, but doing it as an organized challenge seems a bit like letting the cat out of the bag, so to speak.
Given that not everyone is comfortable reading or editing everything I'm not sure how we'd do that without spoiling a bunch of details about a whole lot of people's stories.
Also what you describe does sound a lot like alpha reading without having the benefit of a good working relationship or even necessarily a big picture understanding of the fic, so I worry it might not be that helpful and could actually discourage people to write, especially if anyone got nevative comments.
On the other hand if someme of you want to swap stories on your own, and feel this would help, as long as you don't go sharing details with others it should be okay and not violate the rulses of the spn-j2-bigbang
