A nurse from my OB office called today to let me know I have a bladder infection.  I had no idea, no symptoms, nada.  Only increased frequency in urination, which I figured the baby made me do.
The nurse call in a perscription that I will pick up tonight after work, along with cranberry juice and yogert.  Yay.

i have one now too. its very common for pregnancy because we are so vulnerable to infection now.
i would take acidophilis in pill form. esp if you are taking an antibiotic. my dr. said there is not enough acidophilis in yogurt to prevent a yeast infection. this is my 2nd UTI since being pregnant and the first time i just ate yogurt and i got a yeast infection too! ugh

also try to pee before and after sex for now on and drink pure cranberry juice often to prevent future UTI's.

i feel your pain.

Where do you get acidophilis? is it by vitamins?

I'm kinda bummed about the whole thing really. Its nice to know someone else is going through it, though I am sorry you have to.

Sex, I seem to vaugly remember this thing you call sex:)

Yep. That's why I mentioned the pre-diabetes. :) Since my body doesn't handle sugar well it comes streaming out in my urine which feeds all the bacterial beasties and yeastie beasties.

Perhaps the glucose tolerance test could have spurred on this infection? Who knows!?

With enough cranberry juice it changes the pH of your urine and makes it more slick in your urethra, so bacteria can't stick. Also drinking plenty of water every day flushes your system enough that the bacteria is washed out. So keep on peeing and keep on drinking. Being pregnant though I'd be careful about cutting things out, but it is wise to stay away from obviously bad things. :)

Well crap, I was just at walmart and forgot to write down the name.

Yogert has always worked for me before, so I will cross fingers:)
