Music Monday - #5

So if you were to ask me, "Ally, just who is your ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE music artist?" I would probably answer you with Ed Blann.

Ed is pretty much made of excellence, really. There's something about his voice that really gets me. I think it's that little bit of gravel that it has to it. And, well, man, I love his lyrics :D

"Girl Can't Dance" is amazing. I really do love it to bits :D

I always get "Hum the Tune" stuck in my head :)

But the piece de resistance is "Hush". I. Freaking. Love. This. Song. So much. It's THE most played song on my iPod. I don't think I could ever get tired of Ed singing his love to his girl, who is far away. I die, pretty much every time I hear him whisper, "I love you" ^_^

Now, amazing as Ed's acoustic stuff is, he also makes music under the moniker of Fortunes Fall, and, naturally, that music is pretty excellent, too. It's a little more electronic, but his voice is still just AMAZING, and oh, man, the lyrics, the lyrics :D

"Debut" is probably my favourite Fortunes Fall track. I can't help but sing along, especially the first chorus: "Sometimes when I'm singing, you draw pictures on the walls, and I wonder then if how I feel makes sense to you at all. I show tunes to you I've written, so you cover them in paint, and they're better now, grey and smudged, and dirty like your face..." But really, it's all pretty excellent.

I also really like "I Want Never Gets", because it's pretty inspiring, in a you-have-to-want-things-so-you-can-appreciate-getting-them sort of way :D

PS - sorry, I wanted to link to all sorts of YouTube videos (because that's where Ed Blann (or Eddplant) hails from. He actually lives there, yeah) but it's being lame. I'll do it later :)
