Oh, this is gorgeous! All dream-like in the beginning, and I just love the idea of dead-Jack able to communicate with BadWolf Rose and help her do what needs to be done. Lovely :) And this made me grin amidst all the angst, because it's so Jack:
Life's got a lot of hurt. In his memory, he watches her burn. But it's our choice whether we try or not. And you know, he says, trying his hardest at an incorporeal leer, If we don't, I can't ever show you all the things that really are better with three.
But then the Doctor's in a bad way, and so's Rose, and even though he's only just woken up from being dead Jack's the one who has to be strong and take care of both of them. And that's a lovely image you've left us with:
"Not now. Whatever's going on in your head, it'll wait." He pretends his voice isn't shaking. The Doctor's either too tired or too wise to protest, because Jack's done for today, and not above wrestling him into the damn bed in a totally platonic fashion. Rose leans into the Doctor as he settles onto the bed, and no one
( ... )
Yay! You did it! I like it very, very much. The Rose in the Vortex voice is particularly good; I love the image of her as girl and goddess both. In the words of the Doctor - Fantastic! :)
Wow. That is not what I expected at all--it's much better and deeper. Beautiful work there! This feels so very ripe with possibilities for all of them, and it's gorgeous. Thank you so much!
