Keito and Yuto have been dating for a year. So today, to commemorate their anniversary, they both decided to dress up and have a little party, just for them, and just the two of them. They love each other so deeply it’s hard not seeing them not together.
Yuto was out with Yamada trying to find something nice to wear for his special night. They’ve tried on almost 30 outfits, and Yamada was getting tired.
“Wh-What about this one?!” Yuto said stepping out of the cubicle.
“That one’s nice, too!” Yamada said reassuring him for the nth time.
“But is it the one? I want it to be perfect!” Yuto believed.
“Uhm… Wait here.” Yamada told him and stepped out of the dressing room.
“Where are you going?” Yuto shouted as he saw his friend leave.
“Just wait there!”
Yuto stepped back in to the private space and took a seat on the bench.
“Mou… Our date is only in a few hours and we still need to find some nice shoes…” Yuto murmured to himself.
He heard a knock on the door.
“Yuto it’s me!” Yamada said.
Yuto got up and opened the door, letting his best friend in. Yamada took out an outfit he hid from behind. His eyes filled delight. Yamada had chosen the perfect outfit. Letting Yuto change in to the outfit, he turned around.
“Yama-chan, it’s perfect!” Yuto exclaimed as he looked at himself in the mirror.
“I know! It looks great!” He smiled, but soon frowned as he saw his friend tear up in front of the mirror.
“W-what happened?” Yamada said as he held on to his dear friend.
“J-Just thank you. You made my day so far. A-and I’m s-so grateful to have a friend like yo-“
Yamada hugged Yuto, “You’re welcome.” Yuto hugged back.
“Haha, but now we need to go get me some shoes.” Yuto said seriously.
“Are you serious?!” Yamada shrugged.
“Come on! We need to pay for this!” Yuto said dragging Yamada to the cashier.
9:30 P.M.
Keito paced around the dining room table just wondering where his boyfriend could be. He looked at the food he had prepared.
“It’s getting cold…” He thought.
Keito checked his cellphone. Why was Yuto so late?!
BANG!
Keito was startled. The lightning had struck and the rain began to pour heavily. He heard a knock from the door and he opened it.
“Y-Yuto!” He said as he saw his boyfriend soaking wet and had red, puffy eyes, “Come in!”
“Okay…” His voice croaked.
“I’ll go get you a towel.” Keito raced upstairs and opened a storage closet. Taking out a towel, he went back
downstairs.
“What happened?” Keito said as Yuto was drying himself.
Yuto broke down and hugged Keito, soaking his clothes also.
“I-I’m so sorry! I ruined our special night! I-I-I was trying to find a nice outfit for us and then Yama-chan and I j-just lost track of time!” He sobbed and continued.
“Th-then it started to rain while I was getting my hair done a-and I missed the bus-so I had to run over here-“ H
e sniffed, “I’m so sorry!”
“Yuto, it’s okay.” Keito said.
“No it’s not!” He cried, “I wanted to look so good today, j-just for you! And it’s ruined!” He wept.
Keito let go of Yuto and made his way to the light switch. He turned it off and went back to Yuto’s embrace.
“Wh-why’d you do that?”
“Because you look better with the lights off.” Keito said.
“Th-that’s mean!” Yuto said as he bawled in to Keito’s shoulder.
“That’s not what I meant. Yuto, I love you… for who you are. And I don’t need looks to find out how beautiful
you already are.” He said.
“R-Really?” Yuto said raising his head.
“Yes, I love you so much.”
“I love you, too.” Yuto said as he tightened his embrace on Keito.
The boys calmed down and spent their wonderful night together. They sat down and shared their dinner.
Even if Yuto was a mess, he still looked beautiful.
Even though the food was cold, it tasted like the best thing they ever ate.
And even it was pouring rain outside, to them it looked like a beautiful day.
That night they slept together in each other’s arms. Not even thinking about a thing in the world, because they knew they were so fortunate just to have each other.
