Dream!

I was at a convention, and talking to Esmeralda about how people who are friends should behave. I had a little notepad outlining key points.

There was an escalator and we were near the top....

I don't know, it's hard to explain the beginning part, even though I should be able to, but it was very heavily referenced during the second part. Different convention, same area, events were almost the same and someone was being a smartass saying I didn't know what I was talking about. I pretty much ignored this person and kept talking to Arthur, who was beside me. I'm sorry that was a really shitty description. I wish I had the words, even a half-hour after waking up. ._.

We sat down at a long table and suddenly the area was a school cafeteria, like where Springfest is. We kept talking. A girl cosplaying Belarus walked by, and Arthur called her by full name (both the name and the person were someone in the group IRL; in real life, they didn't match, but in the dream they did. I don't remember either name). She was surprised he was able to recognize her so easily, and she turned around and joined us and expressed how grateful she was.

Someone pointed out through the large window a man cosplaying Teddy Roosevelt, "with the mask and flowers." The mask was a strip of deep red fabric tied around his eyes, and he carried an open basket of flowers. Neither of those things have any meaning in real life. We waited for him to come inside, because he was too busy covering the cars in the lot in plastic, and then painting flowers and other things over them. Physically, this person was a pretty good match for President Roosevelt. We thought the commitment to character was the coolest shit ever.

More people showed up and eventually the TR cosplayer came inside to join us. He was no longer wearing a shirt and pants with boots, but a wet wetsuit, and sat at the corner of the table longways from where I was initially. He kept calling and treating everyone as "him" or "her" based on their actual genders, not the characters they were cosplaying, as though we weren't cosplaying at all. It was strange because we obviously were, and he knew he was, too, because when I got up to make room for him (we'd all switched seats around, I guess it happened when he came in and everyone was excited, and the area had magically switched from lunch tables in a cafeteria to picnic tables outdoors), he complained that no one else stood up "for the President." And that when I remained standing, I didn't have to because I was a lady.

It was also suddenly Hetalia Day. Don't recall when that switch happened.

Everyone else was kinda awkward about that because we really didn't know what to do (play along? laugh it off?). He wouldn't sit until all those he had deemed men were standing; the ladies could, but he didn't really care. I took his seat and remained seated -- TR apologized that the area was wet -- but my end of the table wasn't held down by very much (just me), and I kinda fell over and backwards into the grass with a soft "whump." I hit the ground and started laughing; someone at one of the tables next to us (looked like one of our youngest members) was amused by my amusement.

That's about it. YUP.
