Was awesome. I've been spending the day resting -- because my arms are incredibly sore (from all the rolling and stirring and chopping and...), I got poor, little sleep, and my wallet is woefully empty -- and catching up on the internet that I've missed all weekend. I seem to have missed some online April Fools jokes, though? I saw the Mishapocolypse on Tumblr, I saw Gmail, I saw Google Maps, I kinda saw reddit (/r/baseball and /r/thelastaribender changed their layouts), but I missed all the Team Orangered/Team Periwinkle stuff. I was on reddit at various times of day, but I didn't see that -- or any of the hats? -- once. I have no idea what went on. I hope I was on Team Periwinkle because blue. (I thought it was a timed thing, but as I'm writing, /r/thelastairbender is still decked out. I don't freaking know.) Did Facebook do anything?
Long-neglected sports news, and this is no April Fool's Day joke: the Mets and Rangers both won! The Mets are actually pretty good on Opening Day and this year was no different. They scored two runs in the second and third, three in the fourth, and four in the seventh on Colin Cowgill's grand slam. Jon Niese went 6 2/3. Daniel Murphy was serenaded with The Birthday Song whenever he was at the plate, David Wright was 1-4, 2SB, R, last time I checked, but poor Ike Davis was 0-5, 4K. Yikes. Still, it's a win, and their next game is Wednesday. ... I missed most of the Rangers, but apparently Derek Stepan scored 0:19 into the game against the Jets at the Garden, and added another goal later. Ryan Callahan scored a shorthanded goal in the second, and Mats Zuccarello seems to be doing okay (harder to glean from listening instead of watching).
I heard Sidney Crosby took a puck to the face on Saturday and his jaw's broken. I don't like Crosby, but damn. That sucks. :/ Rangers fans sure do know what it's like to lose a guy on such an injury (I haven't heard anything about Staalsy recently, though). But I guess congratulations to the Penguins for the first perfect month in NHL history. I hope they choke on a dick sometime soon, though, because, um, the Rangers are playing them for two games in a row next. XD;;
I've finally registered for Promtalia and so my weekends are gonna be pretty busy. CPAC is Sunday, then next Saturday -- if we can get the tickets because people want like $70 for them?! -- Es, Kai, Christine, and I are going to the Rangers/Islanders game at the Coliseum. Next Sunday is bowling, and that Saturday is Promtalia. Whew. The weekend after that is SakuMatsu but ichiP!'s not going, so I don't think I will, either. I've got a few things to buy so I'm ready-ready for it. I hope I can get them in time!
Fruit Salad has been waitlisted for AnimeNEXT, which I kind of understand but kind of don't. Okay, so Fruit Salad itself is brand-new, but five of the seven of us are ichiP! and Paradise*Peach, both of whom have performed, no problem, repeatedly, at AnimeNEXT before. We're ... kind of the same thing. And we're dance with discussion so....? That's gonna kinda suck if we don't get accepted; I'm not sure we're applying individually -- because what would be the point? -- so....
