I generally hate it when teachers get shit on, because theirs is an insane profession and more power to them. I could never do it. Education in the US has been on the decline for the past twentyish years (which means I'm a victim too :( ), but that doesn't mean there aren't great classes in great schools taught by great teachers.

Aww! Thank you for sharing this story. I originally thought your AP calc teacher was using you to set an example for the rest of the class and he'd get over it, but holy shit, he actually threw you out. That's nuts.

Yeah, that guy -- lol, I don't even remember his name -- was fairly insane and kind of a jerk even during normal class periods. I was upset I had to switch at first, but quickly realized how much better off I was, even if I would have to take calc I in college.

Tall, narrow face, curly brown hair, blue or green eyes. But it's been a while, so my memory's fuzzy and I've heard that mostly everyone's moved on in the past dozen years anyway.

Edit: checked the math teachers, none of the names ring a bell (Mr. Radman is still there! :D). If my yearbook weren't buried in a box in the attic, I'd flip through it just to make sure.

None of those names are familiar except for Ms. Strauss. We used to get into some very heated baseball discussions (we were both upset when Joe DiMaggio died, though). ♥
