But first the bad, of course. The Canucks blew their 1-0 lead early on in the third period, and the game went to OT. They lost. Season's over. It's a good thing I had Game of Thrones ready to distract me! I mean, I wasn't terribly upset -- not with the way they'd been playing -- but still. I felt down.
and got was pretty, like, whoa because joffrey and melisandre and shit but god damn renly is hot so it's okay even though i know what's going to happen in the next episode lol
Fortunately, the Rangers won tonight to force Game Seven at the Garden on Thursday night. They started down a goal, and much like in the Vancouver game, I had to remind myself that one goal wasn't everything. The Rangers scored three in the second (PP, 5-on-3, and even strength) to swing things back to their favor. That third goal would be the difference, as
the puck found itself behind Henrik a second time. How it got there, well, that's up for debate. There might have been a kick, there might not have been a kick (and you can't really see from that angle but it's the only video I've found and it's 3 AM so I give up), and I swear I'm not letting my bias get in the way, but it looked kicked to me. Even if he didn't get it with the entirety of his skate, looks like he got a piece of it and that was enough, to me, at least. That third goal? BABBY CHRIS KREIDER! His first goal, abubububububu, so happy! i really miss brian boyle though and i hope he gets better soon because god damn
Also
Chris Neil and Brandon Prust had a fight (and Neil clearly won -- lol riling the crowd -- but Prust put in some good effort), and
Henrik swore at the refs.
The other game tonight was Game Six between Phoenix and Chicago, and I realized -- after Vancouver's loss last night -- that I don't have to care who wins anymore. But since it's Chicago, my Canucks bias had to take over (sorry Caz), and I still wanted to see them go down. I got my wish, they were flattened 4-0, and the Coyotes advanced to the Semis.
The West is all set up: St. Louis and L.A. (GO BLUES!) and Phoenix and Nashville (GO YOTES!), whereas the East is very much up in the air: only Philly's advanced so far, with Florida and New Jersey playing Game Six tomorrow (Game Seven on Thursday if necessary), and the other two series going to Game Seven. And Philly could wind up playing any of the six teams remaining, which is the fun and not-fun part about being the number 5 seed. So that's that.
Working on the ichiP! tumblr, which for now will just be all the videos slowly reposted over the next sixish weeks -- I guess I'll include pictures eventually -- and another Mets game tomorrow. They're playing the Marlins, which means Jose's coming back to Citi Field, and I can't wait to see the tribute and how the crowd receives him! *A* Going hella early to make sure I get in on time! Mmmm, three ballgames in a month, I rather like this (and since I found out about that student ticket price, Iiiiiiiii'm gonna abuse the fuck out of it).
I should do my laundry. And some sewing. Hmm. :|a
