Makes perfect sense. You went through the effort to get ready and show up, therefore if they're not making it worth your time you should be allowed to do whatever you want. :D I NEED TO WORK AT HOME. I need to take my trash out and do laundry and go shopping, which will have to happen after work tonight, even though I'm dead tired when I get off at six. (My days aren't all that bad. MWF I have work/class solid from 8.00A - !.00P, then TR I have class from 8.00 - 10.00A, another class and work from 12.30P - 6.00P. I do more work on MWF, but I'm way more tired at the end of the day on TR. Boo hoo, life is hard, Caz doesn't have clean clothes, etc etc.)
I understood the "I studied French in high school" part and then didn't recognize the verbs after that, haha. I'll put that on a flash card for whenever I go back to France. :D And gurl, you retained that so well! I took 8 years of Spanish and can barely speak it anymore. I can read it and understand it spoken just fine, but can't write it or speak it myself.
You should tell me who to root for through the playoffs because outside the Cubs and Royals I have no loyalties. I'm going to support both you and Jenny by rooting for the Mets and the Yankees at the same time which is apparently sacrilege but I can blame being an ignorant Midwesterner.
I love their name, the Devils, haha. Way to play up urban legends guys. But yah, I mean, it's just the preseason right? Losing to Edmonton is whatever, hahaha... oh man. I hope I can find a stream of tonight's game, I wanna see Crawfish. :D They started Salak last time and we got rid of Turco (D:) so...
Working part-time six days a week and full-time school twice a week was fun. Working part-time three days a week and school part-time at the same place was less fun. I don't miss class. XD But I have to readmit next semester if I wanna try for cheerleading. T^T I miss cheerleading (and my body misses it too: I'm hella out of shape).
*A* I would love to go to France one daaaaaaaay. I just wanna travel to not-Canada. :| I don't know why I can do this. I'm helping my coworker and everyone's like "you must have had a really good teacher to remember so long" and I'm like "no I'm just a freak." My Spanish sucks, though. I can't do non-present tense. /heritage fail
OKAY you need to go against your impulses and root for Boston. At the very least, whoever's playing the Yankees. XD;; nothappening.jpg The Mets are out and playing the role of spoiler for St. Louis today (if they can, y'know, WIN), and after that their games don't matter. They play Philly at home starting tomorrow and Cincy on Monday. UMMMM I like Arizona's chances. But yeah, you can't like both the Mets and the Yankees, it's like liking both the Cubs and the White Sox. :|
I had no idea the New Jersey Devil was a thing for the longest time. I thought they were just like "oh, fearsome-sounding name, grrr." LOL Yeah, preseason's just like... meh. More fun to watch than the baseball preseason, though. It's painful when you see guys wearing, like, #83. Canucks are playing Edmonton at nine tonight, but I have an extended dance practice, so I'll miss it. WE SHALL AVENGE YOU~ lol
How long have you been out of school? I just realized I don't even know what you majored in, haha. And I had no idea you were a cheerleader, that's awesome! :D (I've always been out of shape, except back in the day when I played soccer and did track. I got a 16ft long jump one year. Like hell my fat ass could do that again, haha!)
I was only in Paris for three days, but it was cool. Really pretty. People were rude as fuck, but hey. I hate to say it but you really are some kind of freak. Maybe your mutant power is remembering French things really well. :|
But I'm supposed to like the Yankees. D: I'm sorry but I'm totally rooting for them in their current series it's nothing against you I swear.
I feel like I'm having that awkward, "I'm sorry but I've ragingly hated the team you love for longer than I've known you!" conversation a lot lately. ;_; It's like every new friend I make is a huge fan of a team I cannot stand. And it's become a problem recently because a lot of people I know in real life have found my LJ/Tumblr/Twitter and decided to follow me on all of them so not only do I have to hold in a lot of what I want to say about sports because I don't want to hurt their feelings but I have to hold in a lot of other stuff too because sometimes I'm just not very happy with them and want to vent a little and goddammit I created these accounts because I wanted a place where I didn't have to do that I see you every fucking day do you really need to follow me EVERYWHERE online too can I please just have some privacy-
That was an unintended rant and I would delete it but it makes me feel a lot better getting it out so thank you in advance for not judging me for being a completely selfish bitch. orz I just feel like a complete ass tonight because I was ranting and raving about how much I hate Oklahoma on my sports Twitter and I totally forgot that one of my good friends who's a huge Oklahoma fan follows me on there (she doesn't even like sports and doesn't understand what I'm talking about and follows my regular Twitter why would she- nevermind), and to make it worse she was trying to Tweet at me and joke around when a) I was seriously pissed off about the game and b) Twitter decided to not show me her tweets until I signed into my regular account an hour later so it looked like I was completely ignoring her. And I would be ranting about this on my actual LJ EXCEPT SHE FOLLOWS ME ON HERE TOO GOD FUCKING DAMMIT.
No seriously I'm done and I really am sorry.
And I'm going to go ahead and break the universe and like the Mets and Yankees at the same time. I can't be tamed, man. |D
DID YOU AVENGE US? I totally missed the scores from the other night. D:
I've been out of school, most recently, for a year. I graduated high school in 2000, was at Stony Brook from 2001-2004, Queensborough Fall 2007 and Baruch Spring 2010. I was supposed to major in math, but I started to suck at it, and never decided what I wanted to do with my life, hence so much jumping around and with so much time in between. But yeah, I was a cheerleader at Stony Brook. Not as fun as it sounds, though: I'm pretty sure I was mentally and emotionally abused. But that's another post.
Yeah, I had a friend who went to Paris recently (and her parents are so cool. Why couldn't I be in that family!), and she reported that everyone was, expectedly, rude. She said they were all wearing berets and striped shirts, though! I joked that they broke out the stereotypes because they knew Americans were coming. I don't know why I remember French, I'm sorry! And it's not like I even use it! ;A;
But the Yankees are already in, their winning and losing doesn't matter! Mercy, mercy (and stop beating up my Red Sox! D:)!
D:!! I'm so sorry about the rant. *hug and pumpkin spice* You seem like you could use both of these. But sports are sports and people into sports know that. Rant and rave all you want, we all do it, and we should all do so without fear. But you know, there are LJ filters....
If you say you like the Mets and the Yankees at the same time, no one will take you seriously.
WE AVENGED YOU, 2-1! Turned out that I missed practice because of the rain (and my not feeling well like I haven't been all week augh), but I just slept, so I missed the game, too.
Major in math, geez, you're way smarter than me for even considering it. I could barely pass college algebra, haha. And yes, that does sound terrible! D: I hope you can pick it up again in a better environment!
Oh my god, that's exactly how they were, haha! I think they really are like "There are le Americans among us, bring out the berets!" Well I'm just going to leech your amazing language aptitude until Spanish comes back to me, haha.
How did that series end, anyway? I was too distracted hoping the Cubs would beat the Cardinals for once in their lives. (They didn't. D:)
Pumpkin spiiiiiice. *hugs forever* And thank you, really, for not thinking I'm a terrible person. Oh my god, I've never thought of LJ filters. Why have I never thought of LJ filters? YOU ARE A MIRACLE.
I'm a Chicago fan, nobody takes me seriously anyway. :')
YESSS GET IIIIT. Every game I've tried to catch recently have either been purely on the radio or I've had to miss them. Sigh.
Well, it was the only thing I was ever any good at. ... Now I'm good for nothing. :V (Yeah, I hope so, too. But such is life, sometimes. At least it's taught me how to deal with stuff?)
El español es muy fácil. >.>;
OH GOD The Yankees took two of three from the Red Sox. They both lost tonight (Yankees are playing Tampa), so now the Rays and the Sox are tied for the Wild Card with two games to go. 'Scuse me, I'm just gonna be over here, digging a grave. And crying. (I know there are still two games left, but still. Security would be nice.)
Nah, it's not that kind of serious, bro. But yeah, filters are pretty cool! :D
Awwwww. XD
OH MAN they made the official announcement about the Winter Classic today (thanks, Facebook, for making me Like the Rangers for some reason, and therefore vicariously letting me know about that). SO AWESOME to watch. I hate that it's in Philly, though, but that'll probably make it better. Getting a ticket for that would make my winter, omg.
