Dance practice went well. We worked on Ai Like Hamburger a little more, and touched on all the others except 2 Different Tears, even though I had to half-ass things towards the end because my knee started hurting and all the twisting wasn't doing it any favors.
There were lots of pigeons in the park and they flew right at us several times. It was scary. XD
Met Es, Daniela, and some others at Kino after practice. Went stationery shopping and bought two beautiful blue pens. I usually write in black, but, y'know. BLUE. We migrated to the park for a little while to wait on some people before continuing to the library for internet access (because we couldn't connect to the wifi in the park) to find out where those military surplus stores were.
More on how much I hate this weekend: the lovely, beautiful, amazing Bryant Park lawn is taken up with about three thousand chairs this weekend. One for each person who-- yeah, you know. A PERFECTLY GOOD FIELD IN GORGEOUS WEATHER gone to waste because of this bullshit. And by the time they take it down, whoops, sorry, no one allowed on the lawn because we'll be building the skating rink for two months.
TWO MONTHS TO BUILD IT, WHY?! (But yay, ice skating! Can't wait to go! ... I should buy myself some skates this year, huh?)
Even the newspaper today had a black front page with big white letters: 9/11 TERRORIST THREAT and there's been talk of new shit being released all week (ten years later, really? Do you hear that beeping? That's my Bullshit Meter going off).
SHUT. THE FUCK. UP! "Never forget" is all I've heard for the past ten fucking years. I can't! They won't let me! I'd fucking love to forget!
Can it just be Monday already? Please? I've never wished for a Monday so that means it'll come true, right?
By the time we got to the first surplus store, it was closed, and the second didn't seem to exist. We turned around and went to Timmy's to get me some coffee because I was falling out, then back to Bryant Park... until we found a public space just short of it and stopped there instead.
I hate Times Square, by the way. I really fucking hate Times Square. Every time I walk through it, I want to kill myself.
By then, it was just me, Es, and Kendra, and we discussed plans for Hetalia Day and some other stuff until about nine, when we decided it was getting late and time to go. So, here I am.
One of my e-mails today said that my payment for Abi's title was dropped because my card information was incomplete, even though I'd set it up the day I bought the thing. This was a blessing in disguise, as I had been double-charged and meant I didn't have to go to the bank to sort things out. I rang it up again and this time, it seemed to work okay (I've just checked my bill and it's listed as pending), so that's good.
Saw posts on Indian wedding fashion and such on a friend's Tumblr and it reminded me that god damn I wish I had Indian hair. It's just so beautiful and long and everything I wish my bird's nest was. But that jewelry is so crazy (in the good way), I'm glad I'm not Indian because I couldn't pull it off and I'd be so awkward and bangles would go flying everywhere.
ALSO NOW I HAVE SCARVES TO KNIT WHOOPS. Hey there, horizontally-striped nightmare, you're going to take five years to do, aren't you? Yes, you are! Yes, you are! but a canucks scarf to match my future jersey too yay. still haven't decided whose name i want on the back though orz
Yesterday: downloaded a shitton of lovely '90s music. It started with I'll Be, but just kept going from there. Dear God. I have nineteen new songs and a bunch left to download. Then I can make an Olde Timey playlist. *_*
Tomorrow: cleaning up in here so I can film, maybe, a very short tour of my bedroom. It's not a very big space, so there isn't much to say, but it'll be nice to have it documented before I get all that new furniture, whenever it happens.
