I am a baseball wizard.
Yesterday, entirely by chance, I found my Red Sox hat in the closet. Thank goodness! I'd been looking for that thing forever! I usually wear it on rainy days because it covers all of my head (as opposed to my Mets visor, which I can wear with my hair up, as I often do on nice summer days). This morning, and the past couple of mornings, it's been raining, but I had to leave the house today, so I got to wear my Red Sox hat for the first time this season. And what do my Boston boys do? They turn a triple play. :D
Not much more of interest to report: that blister bandaid Leigh gave me to cover the cut on my foot on Saturday was hella strong. At first I marvelled over it conforming entirely to my foot and being waterproof, and I left it on for a while to keep the cut clean. What I didn't realize was that the bandage pad was also sticky, so now I've got a nice, oval-shaped EVERYTHING MAGNET on the sole of my foot.
Work... wow. WOW, just when I think I can't get any more amazed. So when I got to work this morning, a few people were all atwitter about the printer "still not working." Apparently, it had been down since yesterday. I'm doing my thing, waiting for my computer to boot, alphabetizing papers, and they're all flustered and calling the tech center and such. Eventually, I have to use the printer as a copier. I didn't think the copier would be out, but it was, so I prodded the touchscreen. No response. Pressed some buttons. Nothing. Hmmm, looks like it's frozen. I'll restart it.
The damn thing took forever to reboot, but wouldn't you know that the second it did, it started spitting out piles of papers all time stamped from yesterday? Seriously? Seriously? No one, in fifteen hours, thought that the printer froze and just needed a good kick? And when they all saw me merrily making my copies. "Printer's working?" "It was just frozen. I restarted it. Your stuff is over here." "...Oh." Not even a thank you? Oh, fuck all of you.
There's a late orientation on Thursday; it's gonna be another of those weeks.
