First of all, HAPPY CANADA DAY! to my northern neighbours. :D Hope you all had an awesome holiday.
Speaking of Canada, take a look at
this picture I took while I was in Toronto (the rest of Anime North will happen, I just don't know when). I took this on Monday, when I was at the Blue Jays game. Hell yeah, I made it to a game, and it was awesome. I only mentioned it, but
the Blue Jays won 11-1 that night and
Jo-Jo Reyes not only won for the first time in damn near three years, but he pitched the entire game. It was beautiful.
But yeah, how about that CN Tower? We were pretty much directly under it, and I turned into Esmeralda a little bit to get the entire thing in the picture. On r/baseball, there've been a few pictures of "Downtown [city] from my seat at [ballpark]." I saw one, and it was cool, then I saw two more and jumped in to post. You can't see "downtown" New York from Citi Field or Yankee Stadium -- what exactly is "downtown" New York? Is it Manhattan? Is it lower Manhattan? Do we even have a "downtown"? -- but I had this picture of the CN Tower, literally, from my seat at Rogers Centre, so I posted that. It's not all of downtown Toronto, but it's part of it, and pretty much all that was visible.
Increased my karma by 500%. Not that I had very much to begin with; I'd only ever made one submission before, and it was kind of in the wrong subreddit. But yeah, thanks for the karma, Canada! ↑
I would love to do a series of "Downtown [city] from my seat at [ballpark]" when I get around to all the ballparks. The Red Sox were away and the Orioles will be away, and it was winter when I was in D.C. It'll be a nice addition to my "try the beer and a hotdog while you're there." For the record, the hot dog wasn't all that special, but the beer was pretty good. And
they gave me the can! I don't know if it's all American stadiums, but the vendors have to pour beer into cups at sporting events in New York.
But yeah. Canadian karma. :D
I'm not doing anything special for the Fourth; certainly not on the actual day: Es might come over Sunday evening, but that's about it. Tomorrow late morning, I'm heading out to Laura's for some celebratory good times. Her parents won't be around, so she's having a small get-together. Hurray! I'm only staying the one night, and I'm pretty sure I'm going by myself, since Erica's still in DR and doesn't get back until tomorrow. But I get to see ADRIENNE and some other cool bitches. I'm gonna stuff my face with burgers and hot dogs and we're gonna go see some fireworks and it'll be a good time. :D I hope I get some good pictures.
ALSO LOOKING FOR PATTERNS because they're on sale and oh god I need to start sewing for Otakon especially because a lot of official Hetalia shit -- why am I still not over this fandom? -- came out today. New episode and Romania and 2P 2P 2P 2P OMG Two uses for my Mountie jacket, YAAAAAAAAY! I also need to make a new messenger bag because my Hello Kitty bag -- that I've had for five years -- is finally on its last. It's literally falling apart. D: It's almost as traumatic as losing my cosplay boots.
So I guess I'll be, like, sitting around like I do every other Monday. FREEDOM, baby. XD
Fuck my dreams lately, for serious. Over the past three nights, I've had nightmares of being at work and the FUCKING TEETH DREAM TWICE. In the dream, it felt as though there were something between my top two front teeth forcing them further and further apart while I was talking to someone. I tried to hide it by not opening my mouth so wide, and hiding behind my hand, but I couldn't keep it up. When I woke up, my teeth felt uncomfortable, like there was actually something between them pushing them apart. It took a few seconds for that feeling to go away -- there wasn't actually anything between my teeth -- but augh.
And in the first teeth dream, they were ugly, broken fragments of teeth. Kinda like when someone has extensive decay and they have to have their teeth shaped so they can have crowns put on? My entire MOUTH was like that. I had whole, like, dentures, to cover mine, and it felt like I was wearing a mouthguard. I'd literally pulled an entire tooth out when I was in a bathroom stall and threw it on a side table. I looked in the mirror and had a big gap where the tooth was and... augh. I don't remember the rest of it, but that bathroom was pretty filthy, and so were the other nearby bathrooms. IDK.
The work dream was tame by comparison, just some paperwork nonsense I can't seem to catch up with. Here's a
pile of papers I'm meant to file but that I get yelled at when I try to because there are "more important" things to do. ... I don't-- augh, forget it. But yeah, that stack of paper is about five inches (12 cm) high including that bit sticking out that has to be interfiled, as the large stack is alphabetized, and yes, those are rubber bands that are tied together to keep the stack together. The
post-it on top shows that I'm not happy about any of it being there. F always says I'm going to get help with it, but, nope. Sitting on two weeks, no help received, and it'll look just like that when I get back on Tuesday. What a lying cunt. I swear, most women can't manage for shit.
And then -- not a nightmare, but -- there was the Queen of England, who's shown up a few times for reasons I can't imagine. She's shown up
before, too, that's the weird thing. I'm sorry, Your Majesty, but please stay out of my subconscious. Thanks.
And TIL there's a name for my irrational dislike of little things clumped together: trypophobia.
mykonos2 has it, too. I tried looking at pictures of things that would trigger it for me so maybe I could overcome it a little, and just
NOPE. I couldn't do it. Go Google it yourself because... no, I'm not doing that shit again. *shudders* Thank goodness not everything is a trigger. Like, I can handle soap bubbles, but that FUCKING LOTUS POD! Augh, I needed to take another shower after that was done.
...fucking Yankees. YOU KNOW YOU DIDN'T TAG HIM, A-HOLE. >:C And that's where this post ends. XD
