So i believe today was probably the best day at work i've had since...well...since i started.  I quite literally didn't do ANYthing from about 1:45, until about 4:30, then i did about 15 minutes of work, and went home.  It was glorious and spectacular.  Of course, it started way to early, @ 6:15, but, take the good with the bad.  I'm back on a "more normal" schedule tomorrow, meaning 7 to 5 :(.

So i had this awesome dream the other day, and i really don't want to ever forget it, just because it's so...unusual:

So i'm in a pool playing water polo, as the goalie.  i'm rocking the house, and blocking all kinds of shots (i think?  i only have rudimentary knowledge about how water polo is played.  i hope they have goalies).  anyway, it's in a stadium like the swimming pool next to the dean dome, only it had an upper deck of sorts.  Anyway, a few individuals walked out and start shooting poison blow darts everywhere.  Fortunately, i, and then two other players (the main attacker on the other team, and a girl), dive underwater.  This is when i discover i can breathe underwater.

Not just pass water over my gills and obtain oxygen from it, but rather, inhale water directly into my lungs, and then through some kind of alchemy, turn it into actual AIR.  at which point, i realize the guy and girl are about to drown, and so i breathe my air-ified water into their lungs, saving them.  Then i awoke.

Frankly, i feel like if i could be that imaginative while i'm AWAKE, i wouldn't have any problem quitting my job and writing books for a living.  Alas, this is not the case.

So, when i go to london soon, i've decided i am GOING to go see Oliver!, and probably phantom.  Oliver! because it's probably the best musical ever created.  and phantom, because it's famous and incredible and longlived and good.  Though i do have two and a half weeks there, and plenty of time to see other shows.

i saw the u2 concert, and it was, simply put, INCREDIBLE.  i've been trying to describe it to people in the days afterwards, and, frankly, they fail to describe it.  I wasn't the biggest u2 fan in the world before, i mean, they're good, but i didn't walk around with u2 shirts, singing u2 lyrics, thinking about how bono would react to things.  But i've got to say.  They're pretty freaking incredible.  i've been reduced to stealing a lot of their music (though i'll have to wait til a little later in the week to do it, since i'm terrified that time warner cable is watching what i'm doing right now).  It was the best concert i've ever been to, but definitely, my favorite part of the entire thing, was when bono was singing "People get ready," and a guy near the stage tossed a cloth at him that said, "People get ready" And then had some letters i didn't really get.  Bono, laughing, showed it to the camera, and got ready to sing the next verse, thought better of it, said, "I'm going to give this to you, be cool, okay?" and tossed the guy the microphone.  The random guy proceeded to nail it, and did a pretty good job.  then gave the mic back.  It made me really realize that bono was just some normal guy, who happened to love singing, and happened to be doing it in front of 80,000 screaming people.

in that one moment, he gained a lot of respect from me.

i have a siam shade cd that i got at animazement one year (extremely overpriced), and because of the way it was made, or b/c of region restrictions or something, it cannot play on any of the cd players i own anymore.  i think i used to be able to play it on one of my old ones, but...that one's gone now.  So i cannot enjoy my lovely siam shade music.

My internet and computer are both semi-broken, to an incredibly frustrating, but not yet crippling amount.  my computer likes to restart itself a lot, which leads to headaches and frustration, and my latency with my internet likes to jump through the roof.  So i'll be sitting around doing something, and then all of a sudden it'll slow to an absolute CRAWL.  it stops youtube browsing, game playing, streaming music, pretty much...anything.

i've begun a super secret project that nobody can know about (wow.  i just wrote "now" instead of "know."  college, it has been too long), until it's finished.  we'll see how it turns out, it'll probably just end up failing, per most of my usual tiny creative undertakings.  I've got a definite start and end goal in mind though, so, i mean, something's going to finish.  And now that i've blathered on about it for an entire paragraph, i'm going to stop.

i accidentally threw away some raw meat in our garbage the other day, and didn't take it out till today, so our house was all smelly.  Alex emailed me at work and was like, "did the house stink?"  Yes. and it is my fault.  So i undertook the task of taking out the trash and then completely airing out the entire house, so that it didn't smell like crap anymore.  Our beer has hit a snag, where we dont' have any bottles, and are apparently too lazy to go get any...so it's just sitting there, ready to bottle.  i fear all the yeast is dead and we won't be able to carbonate when we DO end up bottling...in like a year....

draco and the malfoys are a fun band to listen to.  my microphone on my computer broke, so it no longer clips into my collar very well :(.

but other than that, i'm happy with the way things are going, and what's coming down the lane.
