La Fête Nationale 2011!

I posted this on my facebook this morning but I'm still wigging out:

This time next year, if all goes to plan (and touch wood, it's looking fairly likely), I will be in Paris for Bastille Day.

This is somewhat blowing my mind, I've never been to Paris and I've barely been to France. I've studied French for most of my life, and I'm going to wind up with a degree in Post TEE/advanced French (don't ask me how, I'm super insecure about my French ability) after all of this. I've just about started hanging my hat on being in France for most of the second half of next year, starting with my final French unit at La Sorbonne but I cannot come to terms with the fact that it's in the Latin Quarter of Paris. That sounds like something far too out there and far too pie-in-the-sky. There's something so magical and unknown about Paris for me, I can just about imagine visiting it but not living there. But in July of next year, that's where I'll be living and that's where I'll be for next Bastille Day. I get butterflies just thinking about it.

After La Sorbonne, I'm going to have to figure out what to do with myself for a couple of months. Hopefully I can stay in France and do something to earn me money and keep improving my French, I don't need visas or anything so it's just a matter of figuring it out. Something touristy? And then after that, there is no way on God's green Earth that I won't be spending some serious time in England and the UK. I want to do so much over there.

I should go to the gym, the rest of this weight ain't gunna work itself out so I can fit into French Awesome Clothes.
