This entry consists mainly of a post that I made pretty much for myself on a pregnancy forum site, so forgive me for just jumping into it. LOL! Pretty much I'm just throwing together a post filled with stuff from 15-19 weeks. (I'm now 19weeks5days along, HOLY COW!)
Around 16 weeks I started feeling the baby kicking, inside my tummy that is. It was the most amazing thing that I've ever felt. Perfect timing to. Jon had been gone only a matter of days, and I was feeling pretty lonely one night, and then out of nowhere I feel this little bit of movement in my belly. Well, I naturally assumed that it was just gas. (Like the site would later tell me would be my first reaction.) When it happened just a short bit later, I realized, hey, I think that's my little Bean moving around!
Ever since then, there have been times when I feel my little Bean moving, and there have more recently, been times where I feel LB kick and probably punch me. Both inside and out of my belly. I'm trying to keep Jon in the loop with the 'milestones' but until he gets home, there isn't much we can do.
Another milestone that I really had fun with was when I found out that the little Bean is reacting to sounds a lot more than before. I got bored one night before bed, and started playing music on my phone, and just for fun, put the phone to my belly so LB could hear it. Well, I felt little kicks and LB moving around. I played different songs for him, and kept feeling LB moving around. Sometimes in what I assume was an unhappy way, and others in a "YAY this is FUN!" way.Jon and I joke though that the baby thinks the sound my phone makes when he texts is daddy, because I always say something like "Oh, that's daddy!" We've decided after that, that Jon would read to our LB every night once he's home. We are going to call it our family bonding time.On the topic of Jon, he's really come a long way in regards to accepting parenthood & the pregnancy since he left for his class. He now makes cute little comments about the pregnancy, says the words mommy & daddy when talking about us in relation to the little Bean, and sounds real excited to feel baby moving in my tummy. He sent me a text one day, calling me mommy for the first time ever, and I almost cried. (he isn't sentimental, isn't emotional, so to have him say things like that is a HUGE thing.)
We still don't know if it will be a boy or a girl. Because Jon won't be home until I'm 21 weeks, about to be 22, I'll (hopefully) be 22 weeks when we find out. I have my secret hopes on what I want, but know that I will be ecstatic either way. I tried asking what Jon wants, but he just says "Either way I'll be happy. 'Cause if it's a boy, we can do car and guy stuff when he's older, and if it's a girl, you'll have a live doll to play with." I managed to get a guess out of him though. We both think it will be a boy. But only time will tell I guess!
